5.0 out of 5 stars How to live in the north, Oct. 30 2009
This review is from: NEW Snow Walker (DVD) (DVD)
I just loved this film, and I've mentioned this film many times to family and friends.

This is a good example of the expression "never judge a man until you've walked a mile in his moccasins"... literally in this case.

The other reviewers here have provided a good synopsis of the film.

There are so many memorable scenes that depict the huge differences between "modern man" with his technology and equipment vs. the "simple" way of life of the people that have lived in the north for centuries. Some of my favorites: the morning the pilot wakes up and is greeted by "a few" flying critters, and the hunting scene.

This film also works well for anyone who does not understand english so well... there is not a lot of dialouge.

Highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Holly Woods appears on the scene, Dec 28 2007
The lead singer Holly Woods was a goddess to me back in my school days, and this is where it started. I think I wore out a tape or two listening to this band. A great first album - a good collection of catchy rockin' tunes... many of these songs will make you want to get up and dance (80's rock style of course!). The song "5035" gained notoriety (= good publicity), as people apparently were dialing the phone number "just to see". My favorite songs are "Lookin' for Trouble" and "Shot Down", although there are no weak songs on the album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 80's Rock, Dec 28 2007
This review is from: TORONTO - HEAD ON (Audio CD)
A strong follow-up a year later to the 1980 "Lookin' for Trouble" first album by this Toronto, Canada based group. I loved this band when they came on the scene in the early 80's, and it's still great stuff.
Good range of songs, from the faster "Head On" to a little bluesy "Someone Will Play the Blues". My favorites are tracks 6, 7 & 8 - the lead singer Holly Woods really shows her vocal range, and the lyrics are really cool.
