Good Education, July 23 2002
If the current round of corporate accounting fraud hasn't awakened you up to the usefulness of charting, maybe this book will. After having tried a pure fundamental analysis approach in my investing for years, someone finally convinced me to look at charts, which I considered to be the same level as reading tea leaves -- au contraire. After spening the past two years studying technical analysis, I am happy to report that this is one of the better books on the subject, and inexpensive, too. This book, along with websites like TradingMarkets.com, will give you a fantastic basis in technical analysis.

Hokey Title, Serious Book, Good Read, July 23 2002
When I first picked up this book, I did so reluctantly. I mean, read that title, and look at that yellow cover! After reading even a few pages, I related with the author's experiences with stockbrokers, and continued relating to his investing experiences -- I went through a lot of this myself, as I'm sure many people have. By the end of the book, the author learned how to time stock purchases using his self-developed technical analysis system. This book was at the vanguard of a generation of technical analysis work, which is culminating with terrific sites like Tradingmarkets.com. To make a long story short, this is a good story, a good education, and if you're not using stock charts in your investing, this is a great place to start.

Even Investors Should Read It, July 23 2002
Parness is a trader, but the concepts he talks about hold true for investors as well, especially in bad markets. Most people don't realize the negative impact drawdowns have on their account, and fail to address this issue. Parness does, and investors should take hee. Also, any investor who is basing their decisions solely on fundamentals should think again, and read Parness' trade philosophy, (and learn charting and market analysis through sites like Tradingmarkets.com). He wrote the book in a much better market than the current environment (7/02) so it seems easier, but the concepts still apply. I'd recommend it.

Live Vicariously Through Cramer, July 23 2002
If you've ever dreamed of running big money, and want to know what it might be like, you'll like this book. If you like what he writes on Thestreet.com and you like him on TV, you'll enjoy the book. In my opinion, his site, TheStreet.com and TradingMarkets.com are the two best sites on the internet for investors. The only way anyone can hope to make it through this tough market is by constant study and research, and Cramer's story is a real inspiration to serious investors.

All You Fundamental Analysts -- Pay Attention!, July 23 2002
Hey, there's really nothing wrong with fundamental analysis -- stocks do go up over the long term due to increased earnings. But technical analysis is a very overlooked area by many investors, to their detriment. This book should be in every investor's library --that is, every investor who is serious about making money. Stan Weinstein's "Secrets" was among the first modern-day technical analysis books written, and has educated thousands of technical analysts and was the precursor to many websites devoted to the topic (like tradingmarkets.com, for instance). If you're still making your investing decisions solely around fundamentals, get out your credit card right now and buy this book!!!

Important To Read This Book Now (7/02), July 23 2002
In the late '90s, when the market was going up almost every day, investing was easy and everybody was a genius. Things have changed, and those who haven't changed their strategies have gotten clobbered. Mr. Schultz gives good ideas for preserving your account in rough times. I subscribe to several great sites, among them thestreet.com and tradingmarkets.com, and this, combined with some strategies in Mr. Schultz's book, have helped me to keep most of my account intact through this market.
