TV the way it should be!, June 21 2004
Those were the days. The days when a family could watch Quality TV shows together.
The days when shows like "Quincy M.E.", "Columbo", and "The Dukes Of Hazzard" would all be on in our homes.
Well, "Dukes" fans, you can now relive those beautiful days, because "The Dukes Of Hazzard: The Complete First Season" is on DVD!
Those rebellious, yet harmless Duke boys, Bo and Luke Duke, joined by their cute cousin Daisy, and their righteous Uncle Jesse can once again be enjoyed by us all.
But we cant also forget the bumbling sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane, Officers Enos and Cletus, the lovable Cooter, and of course Boss Hogg himself.
All of these characters combine to create an American cult classic TV Show.
"The Dukes of Hazzard" has only grown in popularity as time has elapsed.
And finally, Warner Bros. presents us with this cool Dukes DVD collection of episodes, ALL of the episodes from the first season, which aired back in 1979.
We are even treated to a special commentary by BO (John Schneider) and DAISY (Catherine Bach) Duke, as they join us for commentary on the first ever Dukes episode, "One Armed bandits".
This show proves that TV isnt what it used to be.
On The Dukes of Hazzard, you didnt see people get shot and killed, like you do on tv these days.
On the Dukes, Daisy could be beautiful just be being herself (of course, her short shorts helped), unlike the sleezy junk that we see on current television.
There was actually a moral to the story each week on the Dukes, unlike tv these days, most of which, have never heard of morals.
The Dukes Of Hazzard is one of the all-time great TV Shows for many reasons.
It was fun to watch. It is fun to watch. The show was pure fun.It still is pure fun. Watching the famous 69' Dodge Charger, The General Lee, jump high in the air, as if it had wings, every week, was and is fun.
Watching Bo and Luke get themselves into and then out of trouble was and is fun.
Watching the keystone cop-like antics of Rosco, Enos, Cletus, and Boss Hogg was and is fun.
Its the timeless story of the good guys staying just one step ahead of the bad guys. But what is so special about this show is that, there werent really any main characters who could be called "bad".
They all had redeeming qualities to them, even the corrupt Hazzard County Police.
Just like Robin Hood was considered a "crook", because he stole from the rich and gave to the poor, Bo and Luke Duke did the same. Now the Dukes never truly stole anything, they just "borrowed" it from the bad guys who stole it, and in turn, the Dukes gave it in such a way, as to make life better for everyone.
The Dukes were, are and always will be classic shows because they have the timeless qualities that all classics have.
A great story that has morals, fun, excitement, laughter, and a story where the good guys finish first.
Today's tv shows can learn alot from the awesome show that is, was and will always be "The Dukes Of Hazzard", one of the greatest shows ever!
Enjoy this DVD....its not hard to do. Just strap yourself in, and hang on, for one of the most exciting shows in the history of tv.
Once you visit Hazzard County, you never truly leave it, and it never truly leaves you either.
Because its a Happy place to be.
Thus the ultimate reason why the show is so popular.
After watching the Dukes, you realize how life is about love, laughs and having fun.
P.S. Warner Bros, you better not let us down by only releasing just one season of the Dukes. Bring us all of the classic shows with Bo and Luke. If you dont, we'll be after you like the General Lee on its way to the "Boar's nest"!

ABC is factually challenged, May 18 2004
Let me get right to the point.
This special on the JFK assassination is more shallow than a puddle on hot pavement in the month of August.
The "evidence" used in this nonsensical special has more holes in it than a chunk of Swiss Cheese.
This show was poorly researched, and when you watch it, you realize how little ABC knows about the JFK murder.
This is an utter waste of time.
If you want a REAL, thorough investigation into the murder of JFK, I recommend the show "The Men Who Killed Kennedy".
Its available on Amazon on DVD and video, and it is well done.
This ABC show is junk.

The truth about the Warren report, March 20 2004
My fellow Amazon.com customers, please let me tell you some facts about the Warren Commission and their report.
Fact: Warren Commission member, Gerald Ford, admitted that the commission altered the true location of the wound in JFK's Back. Thats right, the wound was in JFK's BACK, and the commission moved the location of it up SIX INCHES closer to JFK'S neck area, "So that it would make more sense to the American People".
Firstly, if this criminal act of altering the wound location on a murder victim's body happened in any courtroom in the US, the person(s) who did so, would be locked up.
But because they were all bigwigs in the US government, the Warren Commission were allowed to lie to us.
Secondly, that the commission would even feel the need to alter the location of the wound shows how much confidence they had in their own theory (None).
If this was an open and shut case of a lone nut shooting Kennedy in the back, then why go to the trouble of lying about the location of the wound?
There's only one reason why: Because if the true location of the wound in Kennedy's BACK was made known, there cannot be a single bullet passing through both JFK and Governor John connally, and if you dont have a single bullet going through both men, then you have, by definition, a Conspiracy, because the rifle that they say Oswald used to supposedly fire the shots, could not, by the commission's own time sequence, have fired a shot and Kennedy AND a shot at Connally so quickly afterwards. ONLY A SECOND GUNMAN could have fired the shot that hit Connally.
But instead of admitting this, the commission said the hell with the American public and they lied to us.
Fact: This is a moot point, because the shot that hit kennedy in the throat was a FRONTAL shot, fired from the grassy knoll. The doctors who saw Kennedy's throat wound before it was forever altered (innocently) by a tracheostomy procedure, all said the same thing....."The wound in Kennedy's throat was a wound of entrance".
Oswald, nor anybody else in a building behind the motorcade could have fired that shot. Only a gunman in FRONT of the motorcade could have fired that shot. This proves that a conspiracy killed our president.
Further proof of a conspiracy came at the autopsy of the President on the night of his assassination. One of the autopsy surgeons STUCK HIS FINGER INTO THE BACK WOUND TO KENNEDY AND FOUND THAT THE BULLET ONLY PENETRATED KENNEDY'S BACK TO A LENGTH OF A FINGER! THIS MEANS THAT THE BULLET THAT HIT KENNEDY IN THE BACK DID NOT EXIT! If this bullet doesnt exit (and it was proven at the autopsy that it didnt), then obviously, the bullet cannot go on to strike Governor Connally, meaning that Connally was hit by a bullet fired from a second gunman, which proves conspiracy!
I wont even go into the fact that Kennedy had a large EXIT wound in the BACK of his head, that could only have come from the grassy knoll.
I dont have enough room to explain all of that in this review.
Instead I want to tell you what the sole purpose of the commission was, as evidenced by a secret memo from the acting attorney general under Lyndon Johnson, Nicholas Katzenbach.
Just hours after Oswald was killed, Katzenbach sent a memo to key members of the government. And in this memo, was his recommendation on what the official goverment "Protocol" was going to be concerning the murder of JFK.
In this memo, Katzenbach said "The public must be satisfied that there wasnt a conspiracy. The public must be convinced that Oswald was the assassin, that he did not have confederates that are still at large, and that he would have been convicted at a trial".
And in this memo, lies the beginning of the cover-up to conceal the truth about who truly killed our President.
The Warren Commission's sole purpose was NOT to investigate the case........this memo proves that the government already decided before any investigation actually took place, that their sole purpose was to
"Satisfy the public that there wasnt a conspiracy to kill Kennedy". The truth never mattered to them, nor did we the people matter to them. Only politics mattered.
President Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy after JFK's death, blackmailed Chief justice Earl Warren and other Commission members into helping the government sell their "lemon" to the American public. We didnt buy it.
Earl Warren originally DECLINED Johnson's "offer" to head a Commission that would investigate the President's death. But Johnson in his blackmail of Warren said "Now Earl, you WILL head this commission, because if you dont put a stop to these conspiracy rumors, the conspiracy rumors will spread, and if they spread and the public thinks that Castro or the Soviets were behind the assassination of Kennedy, there will be a nuclear war, and half of the Eastern seaboard will be wiped out, and you will have the blood of 40 million Americans on your hands"
Obviously, after the President of the U.S. says such a thing, Warren had no choice but to go along with this protocol (cover-up).
He is said to have walked out of Johnson's office in tears.
So, we can clearly see that the government had one agenda and one agenda only: PUT AN END TO CONSPIRACY RUMORS.
How do you put an end to conspiracy rumors? There is only ONE way: To find a lone nut guilty of the crime. To "satisfy the public that Oswald was the assassin, and that he didnt have confederates who are still at large".
Enter the Warren Commission.
And the rest is fictional history.
Now, I ask you, after learning these things, do you really want to give more money to these people, who had such a disregard for Americans, that they would lie to us......do you really want to make them MORE financially powerful than they already are, and thus allow them to continue their charade against this great country of ours?
They wont get a penny from me. I see the Warren report for what it is: Political propaganda based in fiction.
Years after the release of the Warren report, some of the members of the Commission themselves said that they didnt agree with the commission's findings.
Why did they appear to agree with the findings at first? Because they had to. They had to sell this lie to the American people to "put an end to conspiracy rumors".
In truth, the commission themselves knew that what they said wasnt true.
President Johnson said that he DISAGREED with the commision's findings!
Thus, Johnson, the founding father of the commission, the man who created them, didnt even agree with them!
If their own members didnt agree with them, and the man who created them didnt agree with them, why would you, the Amazon customer want to waste your money on an obvious lie?
There was a conspiracy to kill Kennedy, and unlike the Warren report, thats no lie.
Thanks for reading my review.

Absolutely Stunning!, Feb. 25 2004
This book, "The Man Who Knew Too Much" by Dick Russell is quite possibly THE very best JFK Assassination book ever written.
Russell makes a startling case for a JFK Assassination resolution with this wonderful, 40th anniversary edition of his book based on the life of Richard Case Nagell.
Nagell, in a word, was an enigma, Just like the assassination that he shed so much light on was also an enigma.......until now.
Nagell, a former CIA man and Military Intelligence agent (As well as KGB agent too!) trusted Dick Russell so much, that he met with him, and corresponded with him for many years. In each of these correspondences, Nagell revealed bits and pieces about what he knew about the Conspiracy to kill JFK, and make no mistake, Nagell knew alot!
Too Much in fact, hence the title of this book.
Nagell stumbled upon the actual assassination plots (Notice I said "Plots", plural) that resulted in the assassination in Dallas, of President John F Kennedy.
That in of itself is startling, but even more startling than that is the fact that Nagell warned FBI Director J Edgar Hoover about the plots to kill Kennedy two months BEFORE the assassination took place!
Russell meticulously puts all of the loose ends of Nagell's story together and forms a very plausible solution to the assassination, and exposes who very well could be the true forces behind the murder of JFK.
You may ask, "What makes this book any different from other JFK Assassination books?"
The answer is that the other JFK Assassination books didnt have PROVEN sources that were actually involved with the people who killed Kennedy. Russell's source (Nagell) WAS DIRECTLY INVOLVED! Nagell was not only involved with these people, but he actually infiltrated the group and tape recorded them talking about the assassination of Kennedy!
Nagell also claims to have a photo of him and Lee Harvey Oswald.
It is proven that Nagell and Oswald had lots in common......so much so that Nagell thought that he himself may have been a consideration for the Patsy in the murder. And this takes us full circle into how Nagell's story became public to begin with......Nagell purposely got himself arrested so that he would have an alibi for his whereabouts two months later when Kennedy was killed!
Nagell was "The Man Who Knew Too Much" and he was put into a horrible position that forced him to work with the KGB (The Soviet's equivalent of the CIA). In fact, Nagell was hired by the KGB to kill someone. Someone VERY familiar to JFK assassination researchers. Someone named Lee Harvey Oswald!
It is a long, immensely exciting story, but I will leave the rest for Russell to tell you about.
When you read this book, it will feel as if you are actually learning the truth, the REAL truth about the assassination of JFK. Its almost as if you have secretly broken into the government's secret vault marked "Truth about the JFK Assassination".
You will be transported right into the true circumstances that resulted in the assassination, and you will finally understand many of the aspects of the murder that have been a mystery for over 40 years.
If ever a book was worthy of being made into a Hollywood Blockbuster movie, it is this book. And it may well yet be made into a movie. It certainly is full of mystery, intrigue, excitement, and many other elements that make this book a great candidate for a big budget movie.
This book is the utlimate "Spy Novel".
It makes the James Bond movies pale in comparison, because this story is a true one!
For the most interesting, exciting, and startling JFK assassination book you will ever read, I highly recommend this book.
Did Richard Case Nagell stumble upon the actual JFK Assassination plot? I will leave that for you to decide. But while you are pondering that question, keep this in mind........ Nagell was finally about to tell his story to an official government committee, but was found dead in his apartment before he ever had a chance to tell the Commitee all that he knew about the case.
The mystery has only deepened with Nagell's death.
To fully understand the JFK murder mystery, this book is a must read!
By the way, what was the cause of Nagell's death?
Well, just between you and I, .....the cause of death was in all likelihood because Nagell truly was "The Man Who Knew Too Much".

"Brother Bear" is a must own movie for your family!, Feb. 14 2004
"Brother Bear" is not only a terrific movie. It is an essential movie for your family to own too.
Here's why.........."Brother Bear" teaches us that ALL of God's children deserve love and respect. That includes not only the human animal, but ALL Animals!
Think about it. We all eat, drink, sleep, poop, play, feel fear, feel love, feel sadness, and feel happiness. Animals have a soul too.
That is why this movie is so important and a must for your family's educational learning.
It shows us the world through the eyes of a human, and then through the eyes of an animal. The difference? THERE ISNT ONE!
Both the human Animal and other Animals all feel the need to protect their babies, to feed their families and to just live and let live.....to survive without hurting anyone.
Sadly, many humans are not as enlightened as other Animals are, and seek to destroy them, because our human egos and ignorance tells us that we are somehow "better" or "more important" than other animals.
ALL living beings are God's precious children. ALL Animals.
That is the one unmistakable message that you will take away from this movie. And it is the one unmistakable message that our children will take away from this movie.
And if enough of us care to show this movie to our kids and teach our kids a reverance for ALL of God's children, then we, all animals, will have a beautiful future TOGETHER, as God intended for us to be.
All of his children as one. Together. Not against each other. But for each other. Caring for each other. Loving each other.
For that reason, "Brother Bear" gets 5 Stars from me. Because not only is it extremely entertaining, but it is extremely educational too! For adults and children alike!
Also, be ready to laugh hysterically at the two Moose in this movie. They are a riot!
I think that "Brother Bear" is one of the very best animated movies ever, and I think that after you and your family watch it, you will agree.
You will want to watch it over and over again and remind your children, and yourselves, that we are all one. Animals and man. One species, under God.
Lets make God proud and show all of his children love.
Thats the essence of "Brother Bear".

Disney has done it again!, Feb. 13 2004
Many of us are aware of the fact that, the more they make of a movie series, the movies just seem to lack that special magic of the originals. Not this time!
This movie, "The Lion King 1 1/2" is a perfect addition to what is now the Lion King Trilogy.
Quite Frankly, this is the absolute funniest movie of all of the Lion King movies.
The scene where Timon leaves home is one to remember.
In this brand new movie, Disney meticulously shows us how Timon and his pal Pumbaa have actually have been involved in just about every aspect of the original Lion King movie, even if we didnt see them there........They were there....just beyond our vision.
We also learn how Timon and Pumbaa first met.
And, we learn that Timon and Pumbaa lent their "Parental talents" to the life of Simba, in ways that we never knew!
Ever wonder what happened between the time we see Simba, Timon and Pumbaa walking across that log, when Simba switches from a young cub to a mature Lion? You dont have to wonder anymore, because this movie tells you what happened.
This movie has some great surprises, and many, many laughs.
Timon is a riot and Pumbaa is a..........gas. "Oops, sowwy".
Well my comedic talents may be lacking, but Timon, Pumbaa and the rest of the Lion King gang will have you cracking up!
Make no mistake...this isnt just another "Kid's movie". No, adults will get a kick out of this movie as well.
This movie is a worthy addition to the other two Lion King movies and it is funnier than the first two.
The story is great as well, and one of the bonus features includes the legendary Peter Graves saluting the unforgettable Timon!
This is a two disc set packed with fun stuff.
It even features a "Spot Mickey Mouse" game that will have you watching the movie again and again just to try and figure out where all the Mickey Mouse symbols are in the movie.
You will watch this movie over and over again, and I am confident that it will always bring a smile to your face, for years to come.
Enjoy the movie!

Bon Jovi: Like you've never seen OR heard them!, Jan. 23 2004
This DVD, "Bon Jovi: This left feels right Live", is a very special DVD.
The reasons why this is a special DVD is because
A. Bon Jovi are playing all of their songs acoustically (No electric guitars, etc), so you really get a feel for just how talented the band really is.
B. This show takes place in an intimate setting, so it feels comfy, almost like you are actually there with Bon Jovi and the crowd.
C. There are a few songs that have never been heard before, except if you were actually in New Jersey when they performed this concert!
Bon Jovi performed this show in support of their latest CD, "This left feels right".
Like on the CD, this DVD features Bon Jovi, playing their songs like you have never heard them before, unless you have the CD or saw the Pay Per View of this show (The Pay Per View did NOT include the never before heard songs, you can only hear them and see the band perform them on this DVD). Bon Jovi took a dozen of their greatest hits and re-did them in an acoustic version.
At first, the songs sound very strange because we are so used to the classic hard rock Bon Jovi songs.
But after hearing the songs a few times, you really see the vision that Bon Jovi had when creating this new take on their old classics. The songs grow on you.
The songs in this DVD are as follows.........
1. Love for Sale
2. You give love a bad name
3. Wanted Dead or alive
4. Livin' on a Prayer
5. It's my life (Beautiful version!)
7. Lay your hands on me
8. Someday I'll be Saturday Night
9. Last man standing (Brand new song!
10. Sylvia's Mother (Brand new song!)
12. Bad Medicine
13. Bed of Roses
14. Born to be my baby
15. Keep the Faith
17. Thief of hearts (Brand new song!)
18. I'll be there for you
20. Blood on Blood
This DVD also contains behind the scenes footage.
At this price, this DVD is a real bargain, and whether you are a Big Bon Jovi fan, or you just want to see why the band has sold close to 100 million records, this is a great DVD that you will want to watch again, and again.

Shocking!, Nov. 8 2003
This book, "Triangle of death" is a shocking new book on the Assassination Conspiracy of President Kennedy.
Not many people know this, but a very dangerous assassin, who had connections to the CIA and the Mafia, was in Dallas on the afternoon that Kennedy was shot. This assassin left the country within 48 hours of the murder. The FBI was trailing this man and they lost him on the morning of the assassination of Kennedy.
Again, it cannot be overstated. Professional killer. In Dallas when Kennedy was killed. Left country very soon afterwards. The French government also admits that this man was indeed in Dallas when Kennedy was killed, and they essentially say that he was involved in the Conspiracy. This could be the key to the entire assassination Conspiracy, and this new book, "Triangle of Death" claims to present the shocking truth using actual US government documents. Was the Corsican Mafia involved with elements of the CIA in killing Kennedy?
All Americans owe it to themselves to learn as much of the truth as we can. This book is a great place to start.

Not the Bon Jovi album that you would expect, but..........., Nov. 8 2003
One of the greatest bands in the history of Rock N Roll return with a very different kind of album.
Bon Jovi has released this CD, "This left feels right". The question is....Does Bon Jovi's left turn feel right for Bon Jovi fans?
Bon jovi has always said that their strength has been in their songwriting, and that they play the songs acoustically before they find the right mix that has given them so many hits over the years.
So Bon Jovi was going to go back to the basics and do an Acoustic album. In fact the band DID film and record an acoustic show from Yokohama Japan on their most recent Bounce Tour.
But then Jon and the boys decided that they wanted to give their fans something DIFFERENT.
So Bon Jovi chose 12 of their biggest hits and totally reworked the songs in an acoustic way.
Here is a brief summary of the songs........
1. Wanted Dead or Alive- "Wanted" sounds very diffeent from the classic version, and I would have preferred that Jon and Richie do a duet version of the song. However, I enjoyed the Led Zeppelin sound that occured at the end of the song.
2. Livin' on A Prayer- Like much of the album, this song grows on you the more you listen to it. At first, I didnt like it very much. But after a few times listening to it, I can see the vision that the band had for it, and its kind of nice. It takes a bit of getting used to Olivia d'Abo's voice, but it does make sense to use a man (Jon) and a woman (Olivia) in a song about "Tommy" and "Gina".
3. Bad Medicine- I am not too crazy about this version of the song. I look for the best in every Bon Jovi song because I am a fan, but this version of the song just doesnt do it for me. You may feel differently.
4. It's my Life- This is a BEAUTIFUL version of "It's my life", and had the song been about love, this would have had Top Ten potential.
I like the version of this song very much, at times even better than the original version.
5. Lay your Hands on me- Like "Bad Medicine", this song just doesnt do it for me, when compared to the original version.
6. You give love a bad name- If you are expecting something similar to the original "Bad Name" you wont find it in this version. This sounds more like an unplugged Eric Clapton song, than the classic hard rocking Bon Jovi song that we remember. I'm not crazy about it personally.
7. Bed Of Roses- Although I prefer the original version (The live version is the best), this song is a very nice one and I think you will like it. It doesnt differ from the original too much. Just a little.
8. Everyday- I much prefer the original version of this song. Some Bon Jovi songs just sound better with a hard edge, and this is one of them. I am not crazy about this version.
9. Born to be my baby- Much like "Bed of Roses", this song is a very nice one, and has the feel of the classic version, only a little different, and less intense.
10. Keep The Faith- Again, this song has the feel of the classic version, only alot slower and without Richie's blazing electric guitar. Nice song.
11. I'll be there for you- While this song also sounds alot like the classic one, the subtle differences show how much better the original is.
12. Always- This is a beautiful song, much like the original. This song doesnt need electric guitars to be good, it just needs a nice strong lead vocal (And Jon has that) and a nice rythym (and the song has that).
All in all, I enjoyed this album alot and sung along with it. Its hard not to.
Some of the older generation Bon Jovi fans might be upset that the songs that they grew up with have been altered so much. But they will always have the classic versions. Bon Jovi simply wanted to show another side of themselves, and establish themselves as talented professional musicians, while showing that their songs are very versatile. They have done so with this album. It IS different. It WILL take a little getting used to. But give it time and several listens, and I think that you will enjoy it like I did.
P.S. The CD Booklet that comes with the CD includes an interview with Jon and Richie that nicely details why Bon Jovi made this record and what it means to them.
