5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Story Lines - Interesting Reading, Jan 22 2002
This review is from: No Mercy (Hardcover)
I grew up in Westfield, New Jersey where John List murdered his family. I remember clearly how these murders created fear in our town. He hid from authorities for nearly 20-years before America's Most Wanted aired a profile that led to his capture. This is just one of the stories in this book that would get 10-stars if ...(this website) gave out that many. John Walsh deserves a lot of credit for his great work, and this is a book everyone should read.

5.0 out of 5 stars What Baseball Should Do, But Won't., Jan 15 2002
This book is a fast read and a quality look at major league baseball. Although I don't agree with all of Bob's arguments, he makes a strong case that baseball needs a well thought out fix. Recent talks of contraction will not go away in the near future. Although I am a big fan of the N.Y. Mets, unless revenue sharing is eventually approved, you will soon only have New York, Los Angeles and Chicago teams competing for the World Series....since they are the largest television market franchises. I generally oppose salary caps, but the players union has never made a good argument as to why a mediocre player should command salaries of $1 million or more. However, I do not expect the commissioner to be strong enough to handle any of these issues. Nice book, worth the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars The MUST HAVE Guide to Disney World, Jan 11 2002
I just picked up the 2002 edition, to replace my 2001 edition. If you are going to Disney World for the first time, or the 100th time, this book is a great, easy to read reference. It is loaded with facts and color photo's. I will be going to Disney World twice in 2002 and I already have the kids pumped up by showing them this book and the Disney World web site. The kids only get to go once, my wife and I go once without them so we can play. A great investment for very little money.

5.0 out of 5 stars 11th Commandment - Read This Book!, Jan 3 2002
This review is from: Growing up Catholic (Paperback)
I laughed all the way through this, which must be a sin! If you are a Catholic like me you will remember everything this book talks about. In fact, I had forgotten a lot of it. I'm a little surprised it did not go into Knights of Columbus Halls (a.k.a. - the Catholic bar) and Bingo (a.k.a. - Catholic gambling) a little more. But heck, they sure covered everything else. I have to go now, I have to finish crossing myself and say a few dozen hail Mary's.

This is a well researched and documented book. I know, or have met, a lot of the players in this book and it provided me with a lot of information I was not aware of. Shows the human side of many lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Investigative Work, Jan 3 2002
Another solid investigative work by Bob Woodward. Well researched and documented, and strongly written. Really shows how the acts of Richard Nixon nearly 30 years ago impacted the administrations of the next five Presidents. Great read for any political junkies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bottom line: IT WORKS!, Jan 2 2002
This is a common sense diet that has worked for me. My choice was possibly die early from being too fat, or loose weight. I choose to loose the extra pounds. I laughed at a previous review calling this a death sentence. Try reading the book first before you condem it. In about 5-months I have lost 42 pounds and feel great and I am staying on it. The nice thing is this diet is easy to do and I am NEVER hungry!
