5.0 out of 5 stars Im In Love..., July 4 2002
Ce commentaire est de: Girl on the Bridge (VHS Tape)
I looooved this movie when it was in the theaters....not in too many theaters unfortunatly....tooo bad......this movie was really sexy without alot of the stupid pop culture ... that becomes old after 2 months or is trying too hard to be "cool"

If you like indie movies and movies from europe....you will probably like it....who hasent felt like jumping off a bridge at one time or another? :)
I can relate.....I liked all the sex scenes and the trip across europe was neat too, as well as the circus and knife throwing scenes.....I will probably rent it soon to see it again!
I also like that Vanessa Paradis is beautiful without being "perfect" like alot of american actresses and music stars are kind of pressed out of the same mold......imagine a popular actress or singer with a gap in her front teeth? wouldnt happen here in the usa.......

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow Interesting response to this book, July 3 2002
Ce commentaire est de: Mutant Message Down Under (Paperback)
Wow, people either love it or hate it......so if the books message is about love and acceptance then thoes that dislike it and are so critical and petty must be haters and the ones who like it must be lovers......When I read the book some of the things could have been made up but how could she have made up the things like the telepathy head to head talk with animals and people? I found more REAL spiritual lessons in this book than all the sunday school ive ever had to sit through...... As I type this some fake looking actress making the WORST forced grin is staring at me from the cover of a people magazine...... anyways this is what im talking about.......of couse people didnt like this book....because alot of it tells us to be REAL and who the hell is real in the mutant world? ive met VERY few....from bosses to girlfriends to friends and aquainences in general.
Most of what I read everday that is said to be REAL reads like fiction to me while Marlo's fiction sounds alot more like fact......this WOULD happen if you were abducted by Aborigineese......And I like what the aboriginese say , things like animals were not originally used as food by humans coincides with some eastern religions ive researched (Taoisim). And we ARE destroying our planet if you havent noticed.....bet they didnt have polluted skies 200-300 yrs ago...as well as everyone haveing a valuble place in the tribe weather you were a tool maker or a tribal chieftan. I really liked the PART ABOUT OUR BUSINESS ETHICS, it was soooo right on what the Ooota fellow said about it. ANd to answer some idiot a few reviews back ,who cares if Oota is spelled with upper or lower case letters , its probably niether since his name is a sound or thought that cant be properly expressed in our language, lower that nose a little you may be scareing the sun away....it seems that EVERYONE was needed for survival and included even the extremely old.....and growing old was not seen as negative in the tribal culture......and is it really? to live a long time seems in our culture to be punished rather than celebrated......look at that poor old man/lady or "oh hes just a little kid whats he good for" mentality...... well the human race is gonna pay and pay BIG very soon, hell, America already has gotten its karmic debit repaid (september 11th) mark my words ladies and germs.....for what it does to itself and everything else it comes in contact with........we are not alone in this universe..... even that can be almost proven....its only a matter of time when someone spills the beans on the truth behind "aliens" too....

5.0 out of 5 stars Had me "seeing" goblins hehehe, May 31 2002
Ce commentaire est de: Twilight Eyes (Mass Market Paperback)
Funny, I borrowed this book from my sister and read it cover to cover in about 5 days....I read it while working at an atmosphere sorta like the carnival in the book, so it made my day at work more interesting (working at a fair, watching lots and lots of people walk by daily) The action is great and I like the sex scenes too....I really like the idea of deamons in mens clothing and skin......I think I may have met a few of mr koontzes goblins when at around the time I read the book I had a little stint at jury duty.....lets just say the judge and a few of the lawyers were giving me the chills after reading this book....room full of "goblins" hehe....
I STRONGLY suggest that Mr Koontz make this book into a movie....or TV series....If you are reading this Mr Koontz please make a movie on this book, it would rule!
well thats all, Im not intensly critical because Im easy to please.....and I have an open mind :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Creepy but not scary :), Jan. 23 2002
Ce commentaire est de: Twilight Eyes (Mass Market Paperback)
Wow, cool book! especially for the time I was reading it....
It make you question weather there ARE goblins hidden under the human facade.....its interesting because I sometimes feel like some people are not people at all. (I was reading this while I went to jury duty about a year ago and got in trouble with the judge, I was a little late to the trial :P, it felt to me like the friggin judge was a goblin, just like in the books...freaked me out!) anyways....it made me care about the characters...teenage runaways...drifters, carnies...retreating from the "stright world". I guess Koontz is no Stephen King because he isnt.....he is himself (duh! in reply to one review that dissed Koontz for not being stephen king) Anyways if you like strange stories about strange people you will like this :)

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great book! Darkly Funny :), Jan. 7 2002
Ce commentaire est de: Catch-22 (Paperback)
Well, I never had to read this for school but I read it because
my sister majored in english and she lent me the book because Ive always liked books that hold a mirror to society (1984,Brave New World..etc...) This one is no different, the catch-22 runs all of our lives.....in just about every way when you think about it...
I saw the movie of this book and I think it was true to the book completly....My favorite character is Yossarian...though Major Major is funny too.....I like this book because I am anti-war, there are more constructive ways to resolve conflicts without bloodshed....sports are a good way for example...but that would be too intelligent :) anyways....after you read this you will never want to join the military....period :) I wish one of my friends who joined the armed forces read this, perhaps he would have not joined....for all I know he could be dead now...anyways you should read it because you should be curious..not because I told you to read it :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Bjork is wonderful, Jan. 1 2002

Ive heard most of her work, and I like it all....she is always
doing cool things either in her songs or what she wears to award shows (unlike joan rivers I liked the swan dress)And she makes really cool music videos too. Ive listened to this a bunch of times and I really like it. If you want to try something out of the ordinary try any of bjorks albums :) better than the ultra commercial bands around right now, you wont hear any of this music being used in a coca-cola commercial hehehe...at least not the words.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, so true to life.....Love this Book!, Dec 23 2001
Ce commentaire est de: 1984 (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this book in High School and once more since then. Ive also seen the movie which is very well done, almost exactly like the book.... Everyone here says its prophetic and that it is still in the future...is it? or has 1984 been with us well before the actual 1984? Anyways when I read it in High School I got most of it, but some of it went over my head...untill I entered the working world/college and the ranks or society with all the expectations that go along with these situations and experiences....Now it mirrors everyday life....I already distrust the government and most authority figures, religious and non religious. I dont believe in their wars...even after the WTC attacks...and I really dont believe in thier advertising and or media.....If you want a book that will change your outlook and open your eyes and show you the truth of the present and past plus a warning about the possibilities of a future traveling the wrong path...read this! not because I told you to...but because you need to know :)

I dont own this but Ive listened to it and I think its worth spending money on. I really like Blur, but I dont know too much about hip-hop, though I like it as well. Damon has always had a dark-pop theme to his songs (blur songs) now its dark-pop with hip-hop and techno/dance. cool! SOunds like they had fun making it :) and the animated band members are pretty neat too. My favorite song is the "clint eastwood" song, the radio hit but the rest are good too!

I dont know too much about music history and all the music snob stuff that the critics wrote, but I do know that I liked what I heard on the samples (I want to buy this album). It seems to be about brooding, dark love and I like that....I dont know who they sound like they are copying (ive never heard jesus and mary chain) but I still like it anyways.....forget the snob critics and form your own opinion :) if you like it, try it, if not then dont give them your $$$ easy enough...
