LOVE this cookbook, Sep 18 2012
This cookbook goes well beyond the usual slow cooker fare and creates dishes that are outside the usual fare of this appliance. The one reviewer that rated it lower likely felt that it did not live up to the typical recipes that you find and that is understandable. With a whole chapter of soups that take inspiration from different world flavours to an entire chapter of pasta sauces. This book will really help you step out of the box. My only warning is that some of the recipes do require more prep than other typical dishes, varying from pre-warming/cooking in the microwave to some pre-browining in the skillet. The thing I love most about this book is that it addresses any extra steps and explains why they are necessary to the final results. I would recomend this book to anyone with a slow cooker covered in dust or a veteran cooker looking for new inspiration.

Adorable baby gift, Sep 18 2012
This book has really beautiful water colour drawings featuring a bear named Norris and his two little friends. The sentences are simple, but the prose is lovely. It is a really beautiful book teaching the basic lesson of sharing that would make a lovely gift to a new little one.

Love it!, Sep 18 2012
This book is fantastic for all little train lovers. My two year old loves to read this with me repeating the words he has memorized back. Fun slightly retro drawings make this book a fun one for readers of all ages.

Great colourful book for little readers, Mar 21 2011
I just bought this book for my 6 month old son and he loves it. Bright, colourful and keeps them interested with the ribbons. As my son is a bit younger, durability is important. The ribbons seem pretty tight and fairly tug-proof for little hands. The last page does include a pop up of a rainbow. It is on fairly heavy cardstock, but definitely could get ripped out by an excited little one. Great book!

Great resource, Mar 10 2011
Very clearly written with great current information on signing and introducing it to your child. Gives clear instruction on how to introduce basics of signing to your child at a variety of ages (I waited until my son was 6 months to get the book, but signing can be introduced even earlier according to the book). Illustrations of signs are easy to understand and come with memory references to help you recall the signs (i.e. the sign for "bath" is similar to making washing motions on your chest). I would reccomend this book as a great basic guide and dictionary of signs for anyone wanting to introduce their children to this new skill.

Beautiful book, cute story, Feb 23 2011
I agree with the other reviews that this is a great gift. The illustrations are gorgeous, and you can read it to a little one and then look and point out all of the different animals with them. Good before bed story, wonderful addition to a little one's library.

Lovely book, Feb 23 2011
This book was a gift when my son was born. He is now 5 months and it is one of his favourites. He can touch the stars and the pages are sturdy enough for him to turn himself. It is a great before bed/nap book for little ones.

A good rescource, Jan 21 2011
Elizabeth Pantley's book is full of helpful hints and advice for parents that really want to find ways to get their baby to sleep without having them cry it out. I did get a lot of good information out of this book and used many of her suggestions. In the end, after a month and a half of trying, we did let our son cry it out, using her "at the end of your rope" suggestion on page 211. If you have the patience and the stamina to survive, this is a great book and I would reccomend it. Also helpful was chapter 11 which reviews what to do if your baby is starting to sleep and you still aren't. I think this is a very common problem with new moms and it is nice to have it addressed.
