4.0 out of 5 stars If you love to buy made for tv movies, buy this one, Nov 30 2002
A Season on the Brink was ESPN's first orginal movie. Even though ESPN has never made a movie before this one, and though they don't air movie either. They made this movie. And like 9-11 Commertive Edition the MPAA gave this movie a rating. And this got a R rating for language. And the 9-11 movie got a PG rating. This movie was based on a book called "A Season on the Brink a year with Bobby Knight and the Indiana Hoosiers". I watched this movie on ESPN 2 tonight. A Season on the Brink takes place during the 1985-1986 basketball season. And that season Bobby Knight's basketball team opened its season against Norte Dame in December of 1985. Bobby Knight (Brian Dennehy) has come off a losing season and wants his team to win. They beat Norte Dame but then trouble happens one of the basketball has pictures taken for a caldendar. And when Bobby Knight sees the caldendar, it angers him a rule by the NCAA has been broken and the player (I think he was Steve Alford) got suspened for one game and that came is against Kanas in whcih Indiana loses the game. Bobby was Indiana for a long time before he was fired in 2000. ANd now he coaches basketball for Texas Tech. If you love to buy made for tv movies, this is one to get. But please remember this movie was rated R.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jonathan Taylor Thomas vs Chevy Chase, Nov 28 2002
This review is from: Man of the House (VHS Tape)
It's Ben against Jack Sturgers in Man of the House. Jack wants Ben to like him and Ben wants to get rid of Jack and go back just him and his mom. Ben hates being called "Benny". And his mom fails to tell Jack in time that Ben hates being called "Benny" and when he does it the first of 2 times in this movie Ben says "He's calling me Benny already". As the movie opens, 5 years before this movie takes place, Ben's (Jonthan Taylor Thomas) father leaves him and his mother Sandra (Farrah Fawcett) and during the time she dates and Ben hates the people she dates and goes back to being just her and Ben until one day she tells Ben that she wants to get married again. And her new suitor is discruit attroney/lawyer Jack Sturgers (Chevy Chase). The first morning Ben skips breakfast and has lunch (a big lunch he bought at school) with his stubborn friend Monroe (Nicholas Garrett) who tells him hte longer he waits get the guy out of the house the harder it will be to get rid of him. And the answer comes to Ben when he meets an Indian Guides memember named Norman Bronski (Zachary Brewne) Ben joins the Indian Gudies with Jack and Monroe doesn't. Cheer's George Wandt plays Norman's step-father Chet Bronski.

5.0 out of 5 stars My review of First Kid, Nov 28 2002
This review is from: First Kid (VHS Tape)
First Kid is the story of about a boy about 13 years old who gets an new agent to protect him. After his old agent (his father is the presient of the United States) gives trouble and winds up getting fired. As the movie opens, Luke Davenenport (Brock Pierce) is about to start school, and is going back to school shopping even though he doesn't want to. His agent (Timothy Busfield) who has been assigned to protect him rushes him into a dressing room. And the first lady Linda Davenport (Lisa Eichhorn) doesn't like his actions, so she decides to get a new agent for Luke. And his new agent is Sam Simms (Sinbad). Luke doesn't get to see his parents very much because his parents (being the president and first lady) is aways out traveling around the United States and doesn't bring along on the trips. Even if they are gone about a month.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best family films!, Nov 26 2002
This review is from: Stuart Little (Full Screen) (DVD)
Stuart Little is one of the best family films and it is a must in your video or dvd collection. The movie runs at 84 minutes. This is a rare live action movie (with very little swear words), there are about 4 swear words. Now if all the swear words was cut fromn this movie (I believe this movie would have gotten a G rating) in less it is rated PG for something else. And you as a parent would have to cover you child(ren)'s ears. As the movie opens, with Mr. Little (Hugh Laurie) and Mrs. Little (Geena Davis) are about to adopt a younger brother for George Little (Jontathan Lipnicki). They come back with a mouse name Staurt Little (voiced by Michael J. Fox). And the family cat named Snowbell (voiced by Nathan Lane) is embrassed that is new owner is a mouse. And more embrassed if the street cats learn that his new owner is a mouse, so he decides to eat him, but Mr. Little and Mrs. Little make Snowbell drop him, and both warn Snowbell if Stuart Little is harmed, Snowbell will lose his house. George comes home, and gets diappointed to find his new brother is a mouse. Mr. and Mrs. Little threw a party for Stuart and of course other family members are expecting a child and they give presents like a bowling ball and a baseball. Now how is Stuart supposed to throw a baseball or roll a bowling ball.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is he or he is not Santa Clause, Nov 25 2002
I have to agree with jarule1992, when s/he put in his/her review of the Santa Clause when s/he asked parents to stop lying to thier kids on who thier Christmas presents are from. But I'm not sure who eats the cookies and milk if cookies and milk was left out for Santa Clause. But also think of it, Christmas is the only holiday that parents lie to thier kids on who thier presents are from, Easter. Every Easter and Christmas, parents lie to thier kids on who thier presents are from. The Easter Bunny for Easter and Santa Clause from Christmas. I'm not sure on how this all started, but it has to stop. (I don't mean Christmas and Easter) has to stop but parents lying to thier kids on who thier presents are from. And now for my review of the Santa Clause

As the movie opens, little Charlie (Eric Lloyd) is spending Christmas Eve and the night with his father Scott (Tim Allen) becuase his mom Laura (Wendy Crewson) is spending Christmas Eve with her boyfriend/husband Neil (Judge Reinhold). Scott burns the turkey, and he and Charlie go to dinner at Denny's. (Even though we don't know what they ordered for dinner). During the night Santa Clause makes a loud noise on the roof of Scott's house. Charlie wakes up his father and Scott goes outside yells up to Santa causing him to fall. Charlie goes outside and both go on the roof find the Santa's deer and sleigh, and finishes Santa's duties with Scoot dressed as Santa Clause). And head home (to the North Pole) where an elf named Bernard (David Krunholtz) tells Scott in putting on the Santa suit he is the accpeted the duies of Santa Clause.

5.0 out of 5 stars The one that started it all and still the fairest in the lan, Nov 21 2002
If you are confused by the title, it is supposed to be The one that started it all and still the fairest in the land. This was the first animated movie ever, and who knows if animation would ever be around if Mr. Walt Disney hadn't. And the has been a lot of animated movies that came out since, (too many to count) and Mr. Disney was around for most of them until his death in 1966. As the movie opens, a book opens and tells what happens to Snow White before the book is not seen. Every day Snow White's (Adriana Caselotti) stepmother the queen (Lucille La Verne) askes her magic mirror (Moroni Olsen) who the fairest in the land and the answer is the same every day, it is the queen, until one day when the Queen asks the same question again. But this time the mirror gives clues to Snow White. The Queen is so mad that she sents her huntsman to kill Snow White. But the Huntsman can't do it, so he tells Snow White to run away and never come back. (That part so like 1994's The Lion King). There was only one animated movie that was nomianted for best pitcure and that was Beauty and the Beast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is this movie really a comedy, Nov 20 2002
This review is from: Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo (DVD)
I had this rented out for 5 days and during that time I watched it and only laughed (by mistake) during the first viewing, and didn't (at least I can remember) not laughed the last two viewings. Comedy movies at least have me laughing once during when I watching one like Shrek, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). But last summer I watched (for the first time ever) two comedy movies that make me laugh more tahn once, when I watching the movie, South Park, Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, and Max Keeble's Big Move. As the movie opens, Deuce Biaglow (Rob Schneider) is a fish tank cleaner, is cleaning a fish tank without any clothes on, gets fired. So in a pet store he sees a sign for a person to clean a fish tank outside a big apartment, and one day he sees a mean gigolo named Antoine Laconte (Oded Fehr). But when one of Antoine's fish gets sick and he has to go to Swizerland for business, he hires Deuce Bigalow to care for his fish. But warns to keeps the apratment clean. And Deuce has also got to becareful because Antoine has a medival weapsons collection. But when Deuce accidntly breaks the big fish tank, and gets a repair guy (Andrew Scnifer) to look at the fish tank, he charges Deuce Biaglow $6,000. But Deuce has to get that much money in three weeks before Antione gets back for Swizerland.

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect christmas gift, Nov 18 2002
This review is from: Home Alone+Home 2 (DVD)
If you or somebody you know loves Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, and doesn't want the both movies buy themselves, this is something to get. But this is not the only 2 pack for movies on dvd, Toy Story and Toy Story 2, 101 and 102 Dalmatians, are also movies that are in 2 packs. In the first Home Alone, young Kevn McCallister (Macaualy Culkin) is angry with his large family, and wishes his whole family to disappear, the McCallisters have a trip to Paris coming up, the next day. But the every member of the family sleeps in because of a power problems during the night. And when they wake up, they have to do a lot of running around getting ready. But they forget one thing, they leave Kevin McCallister behind. And Kevin is happy when he wakes up and doesn't see his family around.

Okay Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Macaulay Culkin is back as Kevin McCallister, but once again his family makes him angry, when there is trouble in a christmas pagent. And this time the McCallisters are going to Miami, and Kevin wishes that this time if he had his own money he own money he'll on his own vaction. There are once again power problems and the McCallisters are rushing around again, and they head off for the airport, and this time Kevin is wake and is at the airport, but his family is running to fast, Kevin loses his passport, and gets on hte flight with his family (or so he thinks), but he really boared a plane for New York. Looks like to me, Kevin has got his wish again to me. Other characters in both films include Harry (Joe Pesic), Marv (Daniel Stern), Kevin's mother (Catherine O'Hara), Kevin's dad (John Heard), Kevin's bother Buzz (Devin Ratray) and Kevin's grumpy uncle Frank (Gerry Bamman)

Road to El Dorado [Import]
VHS

5.0 out of 5 stars The only Dreamworks movie I own on VHS, Nov 17 2002
The Road to El Dorado makes me wonder one thing, the narrator is Elton John. But he does not talk once in the movie, he sings most of the movie's songs, the only song not sung by Elton John is It's Tough to Be a God perfomed by Kevin Kline and Kennth Branagh. But warning to parents this movie was rated PG by the MPAA for mild tnematic material and language. As the movie opens, it is Spain in 1519, and two men named Tulio (Kevin Kline) and Miguel (Kennth Branagh) are playing a game with loaded dice, and they win a map to the city of El Dorado. But they are taken prisoners on a ship, they make a plan to escape and go back to Spain, but instead problems happen when a horse wants his apple and they end up on a beach without food, but Migel has manged (some how) to get the map to El Dorado and they decide to make the journey to Spain, take the gold and go back to Spain. They find the city of El Dorado. And they are mistaken for gods, and now they have to pretend to be gods even though they are mortals and without the city of El Dorado learning they are not gods.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another tv movie that has come out on video and dvd, Nov 16 2002
The reason Gedeon and Jules Naudet was in New York filiming this, was not of the planes crashing into the north and south towers of the World Trade Center, but to film the life of a rookie fire fighter. And the person being filmed is Tony Benetatos. This is not a movie with actors playing people (even in real life), but these are real fire fighters. The brothers started filming in either June or July, and even though most of the summer was very slow of the brothers, Tony Benetatos and the rest of the fire fighters. Until September 11, when the brothers was filming the fire fighters that was on duty on September 11, working on a gas leak (near the World Trade Center), when a plane was heard roaring in the air, and the brothers got thier camreas really fast to view the plane crashing into the north tower. And starting filming the fire fighters in and around the World Trade Center. And after a while the south tower was hit, and about a hour after getting hit and on fire, the south tower fell to the ground, and about 30 minutes later the north tower (still on fire) fell to the ground. But it is also amazing that the brothers surived the whole thing and been able to finish the movie. Plus this a rare movie with no actors playing the people of 911 or anything else. Plus it is hard to beieve that the World Trade Center was ugly during the daytime and beautiful at nighttime. And you don't aways have to wait to catch this on tv, or wait until 9/11 each year to watch this (if you have bought this on video or dvd). Watching this, I am glad that I was not in New York and by the World Trade Center on the morning of 9-11-01 or even when (both towers fell). Also good, is that it didn't talk until 60 years to have a documety on the World Trade Center to come out. And even watching real live people insteado f watching actors playing people who was at or arouund tbe World Trade Center on the moring of 9/11/01.
