3.0 out of 5 stars Half way from good and bad, July 4 2004
This review is from: Good Boy (DVD)
Now I know that Ebert & Roeper both hated this movie, they set this was a "very bad family film", or at least Ebert. But it seemed to go half way from a bad and good film for me, and I am going to give it 3 stars. Mostly I guess this might be for some young kids, and though it is rated for mild crude humor, though I don't know what really is supposed to be funny about this film. The best idea, is to rent this film once, wach it once, and then return to the video store, even really early, if you hated it that much. But if your kids like this film, buy it. As the movie begins it is exact 3 months to the day, that Owen Baker (Liam Aiken) became a dog walker, and he wants a dog, and his Mom ((Molly Shannon) and his Dad (Kevin Nealon) promsied him, he can half one on that date, and he spents his morning walking his neighbor's dogs, wich on the way, comes across a dog on the loose, that helps the dog catcher, catch. At at the pound, Owen finds the dog again, and adopts the dog. Even though she tries to get Owen to wait until they move into thier new home.

2.0 out of 5 stars Freaky Disney, Jun 27 2004
This review is from: Freaky Friday (DVD)
Freak out is right, Disney has recently been making mostly re-makes of live action movies, and while tat, the animated studios of Disney are making sequels out of classic animated movies, and the orginal animated movies, they are bringing out, will never leave up to the classic animated movies, of 30's, 40's, 50's 60, 80's and up to the middle of the 90's. Clearly it seems to me, that Disney is running out of ideas. Though I do have to amit, they had a good live action movie in the 2004, "Miracle". As the movie opens, a new school year as started for teenager Anna (Lindsay Lohan), and she is failing English, and she ends up in 2 dententions in 1 day. She is also abusive to her little brother ((Ryan Malgarini), and performs with her band in a garage. But when her mom Psychologist Dr. Tess Coleman (Jamie Lee Curtis) finds out that she is failing English, and had 2 dentions, she takes away Anna's door to her bedroom. And she is about to get married to fiance Ryan (Mark Harmon). And when Anna and her band gets a last minute addition at the House of Blues, Anna has to get permission from her mom to attent the addtiton, because it is the next day, during the refreshal, that she has to be at, and she is her mom's maid of honor. And when an employee (Lucille Soong) 2 fortune cookies, and wake up the next day, and Anna is in hjer mother's body, and Tessa is in Ana's body, and the come up with a plan not to tell anybody, and Tessa (Anna) goes to school, and Ana (Tessa) goes to work, they agree to meet at 11:45 A.M. sharp, to go back to the resatuarnt, to see if she can get them back in the right bodies. Truely the song for Disney is "Oops I did it again".

4.0 out of 5 stars Is this really a kid's movie, Jun 3 2004
I see that a lot of people hate this movie, but I see some are giving this a good review, and I seem to be one of the people that seem to like this film, I don't know if this is really a comedy, or if that my humor is really that limited. And since there are 2 seprate versions of this movie, a wide screen and a full screen, which I don't know why a lot of movie companies like to do this. One of my biggest problems with the dvd, is that the trailers, before the trailers, a message comign up that you can skip foward to the menu, and I have tried how many times, and I can not do that. In 2000, we had How the Grinch Stole Christmas, with Jim Carrey hiting behind a lot of make up, and now we Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat, with Mike Myers now hiding behind a lot of make up. What is next, Green Eggs and Ham? As the movie opens, Jane (Kelly Preston) is at work, and her boss (Sean Hayes) is giving a speech about that night's company party that Jane is holding, and her boss tells her that the house should be in shape or she is "fired", just after recieveing word that her baby sitter for her children Conrad (Spencer Breslin) and Sally (Dakota Fanning) is leaving the house, and has to leave to be with her children, she is a single Mom, and there is no word of what happended to thier father. She wroks as a ral estate agent, while at the house, Conrad (who is a rule breaker) and does the oppioste of what he is told, slides down the stairs, and who should catch in the act, but his Mom, and he goes out the front door, leading his Mom to be mad with him, for getting her dress for the party almost dirty, which leads him to being grounded for a week. But then she gets a call from her boss, and he wants her to return back to work that day, reason (not really given), which leads to Jane getting a bab sittter for her children at the last mintue, and she manges to get Mrs. Kwan (Amy Hill). And she leaves some rules for both children, and lets Mrs. Kwan know that Conrad is grounded. Thier next door neighbor and Jane Boyfriend Lawwerence Quinn (Alec Bladwin) hates Conrad, and wants to send him to a special school for troubled boys. And when it starts to rain, and they are stuck in the house, with nothing to do. Until they here a noise in the house leads to find out, what is going on. Enter the Cat in the Hat (Mike Myers), which the kids are scared of at first. Now a lot of reviewers may but thier reviews into a rythem but not me, I am not putting this into a rythem or nothing, just a review.

4.0 out of 5 stars You won't know the 1/2 of it, until you watch the movie, Jun 2 2004
This review is from: Lion King: 1 1/2 (2 Discs) (DVD)
If you thought you knew the Lion King, you don't really know the 1/2 of the movie. This is Timon & Pumbba's side of the story. But for some reason, instead of getting named The Lion King 3, it is titled "The Lion King 1 1/2", and since this movie came out after the Lion King and The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, but never mind. As the movie opens, Timon (Nathan Lane) and Pumbba (Ernie Sabella) are in a dark theatre, and Pummba is against Timon fast fowarding to the part of the Lion King when they come in, and Pumbba reminds him they were there are the time, but we don't know it. And they begin telling thier story, which begins with Timon's early days with his family, including his mom (Julie Kavner) and his Uncle Max (Jerry Stiller), and the other meekcats are upset by Timon's digging, and then his Mom puts him on a new job, watching for heeynees, which his uncle trusts him to do, but instead Timon breaks into song, and doesn't too his job until it is too late, which upsets his uncle. Later on after having a talk wit his mother, Timon sets out looking for a better home, in which he runs into Rafiki (Robert Guillaume). And Rafiki tells him him "to look beyond what he see". And what he see is Pride Rock, and starts to make his trip there, along the way he meets Pumbba. And he joins Timon on the trip.

4.0 out of 5 stars George is back! Or kind of!, May 27 2004
This review is from: George Of The Jungle 2 (DVD)
George of the Jungle returns in this sequel to the hit 1997 movie. Only this came to video and dvd, and it is misses at least 2 people from the first film, but for some Thomas Halden Church returns in this movie, along with John Cleese and Keith Scott who provides the narrator's voice. But this time, Disney decided to take a live action movie, and make a sequel out of it, usually they do this with animated movies. As the movie opens, George of the Jungle (Christopher Showerman replacing Brendan Fraser). And now he is king of the jungle, and has to divide time for both the animals and his wife Ursula (Julie Benz) and son Junior (Angus T. Jones), and usually he ends up late for things for his family including lunch! 4.0 out of 5 stars Good-bye Friends, May 6 2004
It has not been 1 hour since the last eposide of Friend aired, and I see that there are 2 negtive reveviews of it already, and I guess they were never really a big fan of the show, so I don't know why they bothered tuning in tonight to see it end. And it is hard to believe that the Friends series finale is coming on dvd, since the company of Friends has brought out season 7, but pretty soon, all 10 seasons should be on dvd. And WGN TV is still planning to air the repeats of the seires, and if you don't have WGN TV, and you like Friends you cna get up to season 7 on video or dvd. It starts with Ross Gellar (David Schwimmer) and Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) in bed, and they finishing a night of a good-byes, because Rachel is leaving for Paris. And at that same time Ross' sister Monica (Courteney Cox Arquette) is in the hospital with her husband Chandler (Matthew Perry), when Erica (Anna Faris) is in labor. And she gives birth to a boy, but what neither Chandler, Monica or Erica knows there is another baby yet to be born, but the doctor delievering the baby knows. And Erica thinks the 2 heartbeats are her's and the baby's. And the 2nd baby is a girl, which they name Erica. But the rest of the friends doesn't know that there are two babies, nad had made signs for one baby. Just what to see the look of thier faces when they find out, which I am not going to spoil for you if you haven't seen the series finale yet.

4.0 out of 5 stars How you play the game, April 29 2004
I see this movie is get bad reviews, but I will not give this a bad review. After the first 2 Spy Kids movie, Robert Rodriguez brings us a 3rd movie, which is titled Spy Kids 3D: Game Over, if you are watching the 3D version of the movie, and if you are watching the 2D verison then it would be called Spy Kids 3: Game Over. boo725, the actor's name who plays Juni is Daryl Sabara. As the movie opens, stubborn Juni (Daryl Sabara) has left the OSS, and has become a private eye, and keeps telling the OSS that he is no longer an adgent, and he can't help them. He has his office in the tree house that his uncle Machete made for Juni and his older sister Carmen Cortez (Alexa Vega) after they became secret agents. And he is visited by Gerti Giggles (Emily Osment), and after she leave he gets a call from Devlin (George Clooney), and he tells Devlin that he is into reality and the reality is nothing Devlin can say will make Juni return to the OSS as a secret agent. Then Delvin delivers the bad news, his sister is missing. So, he goes off to OSS where he is taken to games and theory, where bad boy turned good boy Donnagon Giggles (Mike Judge) and his wife (Salma Hayek) is waiting for him. They ask him what he knows about a game called "Game Over" created by the Toymaker (Sylvester Stallone) who is prisoned in cyber space, by the OSS year ago. Carmen went until the game by herself, because her only choice would not answer their calls, and got has far as level 4, and then disappeared into the game and is a prisoner of the Toymaker. Now with 3D glasses on, Juni is sent into the game, and has to start on level 1. Where he meets Beta testers, Arnold (Ryan Pinkston), Francis (Bobby Edner) and Rez (Robert Vito). And they tell him the fast way to get to level 2, is to jump into a target that will get him to the moon, where level 2 is, and he finds himself in the arena of Missfortune, and has to battle a mach to get to level 2, and he fights a girl named Demetra (Courtney Jines), and after a couple of rounds Juni wins, and off to level 2, where he runs into Arnold, Rez, and Francis who mistakes him for the Guy. But one has his doubts, and they changgle him to a mega race, where Juni wins, is congratulated by his grandfather (Richard Montalban) whom he brought in the game, without realzieing the Toymaker was the one that put Grandfather in the wheelchair, 30 years before the movie takes place, but when Demetra discovers, that Juni is not the real gut, she asks him to at least act like he is the real guy. Elijah Wood plays the real Guy in the movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Elvis Presley cds around, Jan 1 2004
This review is from: 2nd To None (Audio CD)
In 2002, RCA released Elvis 30 #1 hits, and the cd was a hit itself, and in October (of this year) RCA followed with Elvis 2nd to None. And a lot of Elvis Presley fans would agree with that. Who knows what might happen next year? The took 28 Elvis Presley songs and threw in 2 more of his songs, and one of them was a song that Elvis recorded in 1964, but was not released until this cd. They have songs from the 50's, 60's and 70's. They took some songs Elvis did for recording like that's all right, wear my ring around your neck, trouble, moody blue, blue suede shoes, and i forgot to remember to forgot. And songs that Elvis recored for his movies like viva las vegas, rock-a-hula baby, mean woman blues, king creole, and bossa nova baby. RCA also added some songs that Elvis Presley did for some concerts like an american trilogy, if i can dream and memories, which memories got remastered and runs about a minute longer then the orginal verision. But sorry Elvis fans some of his other hits like heartbreak hotel, don't, suspicious minds, she's not you, can't help falling in love, jailhouse rock, hound dog, (you're the) the devil in diquise, and return to sender. But if you are an Elvis Presley fan, this cd you won't want to miss adding to your collection. The makers of this cd has added a song that never was released (or so they say) called I'm a Roustabout.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Santa Clause is back!, Dec 24 2003
This review is from: The Santa Clause 2 (DVD)
I don't know why Amazon as this movie listied as The Santa Clause 2 - The Mrs. Clause, when the title is just The Santa Clause 2. Disney brought this movie out last year when the first Santa Clause movie (with Tim Allen) came out in 1994. I don't know when this is taking place, but I have heard that the movie begins 8 years after the orginal movie took place. The movie does not say when it it is taking place, but I do know that is take place, at least 8 years after the orginal, since Charlie (Scott's son) was a little boy, when his dad became Santa Clause, when the old one fell off his roof, and now he is a teenager. This is a rare live action movie with a G rating. And usually live action movies, would have a higher rating like PG, or even higher. As the movie opens, Scott (Tim Allen) has been Santa Clause for some years now, and now even more children believe in Santa Clause, since Scott took the job. But there are stuff that is going on, that Scott doesn't know. And that head elf Bernard (David Krumholtz) has been bugging Curtis (Spencer Breslin) about breaking some bad news to Santa Clause. And when Curtis asks Bernard, why he does he have to do it, Bernard explains to Curtis that he is the head elf, and it is not his job to give bad news to Santa. Santa's son Charlie (Eric Lloyd) who is know a teenager, has landed him on "this year's naughty list". And it gets even worser when Curtis and Bernard tell Santa shows Santa that on the card, some information that was missed. And that is that he needs a Mrs. Clause. And he has until Christmas Eve to find a wife. And the process begins, that he will start to lose his stomach, and white hair, and then it will contiune on until he can't be Santa any more. And that he has to go back to earth, to help his son, and maybe to find a new wife. Then Curtis comes up with the idea of cloning Santa, and have a look a like, stay at the north pole, and does Santa's duties, while Scott Calven returns to Earth, to find out what is going on with his son, Bernard is against, but Scott is cloed, and Scott asks Bernard to lie to the elfs, that he has changed his appearance. Even though, how much Bernard hates the idea, he does it any way. When Scott returns to earth, he learns that Charlie has done graftti all over his school, and is even facing susupention. And has to attend a meeting wit his ex-wife Laura (Wendy Crewson), Neil (Judge Reinhold), Charlie, and his son's principal Carol Newman (Elizabeth Mitchell). It may be a good idea, to see the first movie, before this one, to find out how Scott got the job as Santa in the first place, before you see this one. The movie reunites most of the cast from the Santa Clause, all the elves in the first one, are not back, and there newcomers like Curtis, Carol and Charlie's baby relative Lucy (Liliana Mumy)
