Enrique Iglesias- Enrique (1999, Interscope/Universal), July 9 2002
Son of Julio Iglesias, Enrique has been around for sometime making ethnic songs until 1999 when he made his first English LP. After hit song "Bailamos", which was a theme for 1999 movie "Wild, Wild West", Enrique's songs like "Rhythm Devine" & "Be With You" became more popular within the new millenium period. The best album that deals with cross-over (artist switching genres & languages), "Enrique" is a definite Latin/English pop album for everyone. Creative, delight-filled & unorthodox, this album's most memorable moments are "Rhythm Devine", "Be With You", "Sad Eyes", "I'm Your Man", "You're My #1" (the most beautiful love song one can ever hear) & "Alabao". However, the most disappointing moment in this album is "Could I Have This Kiss Forever"; a very odd duet song with Enrique & Whitney Houston, which was produced by Clive Davis. Enrique's newer album "Escape", therefore, was a major disappointment. The climax of that LP was "Hero". After listening to this exotic debut English/American album from Enrique, we'd all think that he would make another album with the same excitement. That was not true at all. Let's hope that on a 3rd album, Enrique does better.

Pink- Missundaztood (2001, Arista/RCA), July 8 2002
After hot trendy pop songstress Pink made her debut album "Can't Take Me Home" (which had "There U Go" & "Most Girls") & after the terrible re-make of "Lady Marmalade" with artists like Lil' Kim & Mya, Pink changed her image, her hair color, her style & her lyrical style. She has also became worse! I bought this album, had it for 4 months and only listened to it 3 times. Took it back in exchange for some vinyls. I swear... Pink's style is cool, loved the song "Don't Let Me Get Me", but... her album is just full of feminine rebellion. If I wanted an album like this, I would have went for Janet Jackson's "Control" which is much better than this icky-discky and a landmark in music history. Besides, her debut with Steven Tyler of Aerosmith was so terrible. It sounded like a blues song. Although we don't need another Britney, Aguilera, nor Ashanti, Pink is not making the situation any better with her mouthy attitude and rebellious ways.I regret spending money on this elastic-as-gum AND PINK-as-gum disc. Next, please...

Prince- ~ (1992, Warner), Jun 4 2002
Another average album by Prince. I don't have much to say here, but the CD case had creativity & the best songs are "The Morning Papers", "Damn U", "3 Chains 'O Gold", "Blue Light" & "Wanna Melt With U".

Prince- Diamonds & Pearls (1991, Warner), Jun 4 2002
Another average album from Prince. Best songs include "Cream", "Strollin", "Gett Off", "Money Don't Matter 2Nite". Very cool cover. I believe after this album, Prince fell downhill, but this album is OK.

Prince- Sign 'O The Times (1987, Warner), Jun 4 2002
I wish they put this album all on 1 CD. I almost could have fit. This album altogether added up to little over 80 minutes. I've seen some single CDs that has data up to 81 minutes. Very good album. The artwork is very artistic looking. The only song I don't like is "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man". This is a good album, and perhaps, Prince's last excellent Grade-A album as a whole. To me, it's like another "Around the World in a Day" without every song being about love, happiness & the themes from that album. Very good. MUST BUY PRINCE ALBUMS ALERT: For You, Dirty Mind, Controversy, 1999, Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day, Sign 'O The Times, Diamonds & Pearls & The Gold Experience.

Prince- Around the World in a Day (1985, Warner), Jun 4 2002
I know many people would say that this is Prince at his worst along with "Under the Cherry Moon". But this is another hottie. After his albums of "Dirty Mind", "Controversy", "1999", & "Purple Rain", albums filled with songs with lyrics of God, sex, politics... this is an album filled with messages of fantasy, love, happiness & change. Things that some people in the world are afraid of, things that are rare & things that people treat as a disease. I love the songs "Paisley Park", "Tamborine" & "America" so, so much. "Around the World in a Day", "Condition of the Heart", "Pop Life" & "Temptation" are cool, too. This album is much different that the usual Prince albums & themes. And I really like it so much. I have the German-imported disc & it's all well! Grade-A music!

Prince- 1999 (1982, Warner), Jun 4 2002
... Easily known as Prince's best album! The only songs I dislike is "International Lover" & "Delerious". So many 7-9 minute songs here. When this was first released on CD, "DMSR" was foolishly omitted. Why? When CDs were first made, they could only contain so much data, unlike most discs now that can hold 80 minutes worth of data. I could tell that this album was made with so much care & pride. My favorites are "1999", "Let's Pretend We're Married", "A-U-T-O-matic", "Something in the Water", "Free" & "All the Critics Love U In NY". The only thing missing on this album is the 12" version of "Little Red Corvette", although I never cared for that song. This album is more blatantly explicit than "Dirty Mind", but it's still not a very bad album. Songs like "Let's Pretend We're Married" & "Lady Cab Driver", be more aware of certain people listening in on these songs; like hyper-sensitive, easily-squeamish people & smaller kids ... . I really love "Something in the Water" for it's melody & Prince's hardcore emotional feeling sung in the song. At most record stores, this Prince album is more expensive than many of his other older albums. Not because of length, but because of popularity! Prince really did it here!

Prince- Purple Rain [SDTK] (1984, Warner), Jun 4 2002
A lot of people would say that his album & '1999' are Prince's best works. This album is very popular & can be found in a lot of people's music collections. The album is very lively & very nice, but I like "Around the World in a Day" much better (an album that many people say that's "Prince's worst"). "Darling Nikki" was a song about a sexually exuberant female & it made Tipper Gore go berserk. Imagine what Prince's other songs could have done for her. My most favorite songs are "Take Me With U", "The Beautiful Ones", "When Doves Cry" & especially "I Would Die 4 U". Pretty decent album. Songs like "Baby, I'm a Star" bores me. "Purple Rain" & "Darling Nikki" are cool, but I can get tired of hearing them after a while.

Prince- Controversy (1981, Warner), Jun 4 2002
I don't know if I would call this a 'Dirty Mind 2'. It's not as explicit as 'Dirty Mind', as far as profanity, but it does have usual sexual lyrics in songs like 'Jack U Off'. This album, like 'Dirty Mind' is filled with Prince's favorite subjects: sex & politics. And this album is filled with long songs that lasts for well over 7 minutes. 'Controversy' is a song about life's troubles & popular criticism (which is exactly what controversy is). Songs like 'Private Joy' (party song with great rhythm), 'Ronnie Talk to Russia' (political song), 'Annie Christian' (another political song about events that occured years ago, including the Atlanta Child Murders, anti-christianity, etc...) & 'Jack U Off' (sexual song about masturbation) are the best in this album & few of the best songs that has ever entered my ears... Very Highly Recommended. Every song here is great except "Do Me, Baby" & "Let's Work".
