Just burn the 4/14 good songs on this cd, May 27 2004
This whole song reminds me of summer. Maybe that's because I listened to it a LOT over the summer, but it's still one of those cds that smells like sunscreen and goes well with a light breeze. In my opinion, the Counting Crows are best with their slower songs, and, if you agree with me, this cd might not be the best for you. Their lyrics aren't easy to relate to, which is a definite negative in my book, but there's still a FEW treasures here.
Catapult - 8.0 Not a very catchy song, but good to listen to while lying in bed on a warm summer day
Angels of the Silences - 5.0 Not one of my favorites. I don't find there to be a steady beat.
Daylight Fading - 7.0 "Well, I heard you let somebody get their fingers into you." If that's not the dirtiest Counting Crows' lyrics, I don't know what is.
I'm Not Sleeping - 5.0 Bad start, worse middle, screechy ending. Adam, we understand that you're not sleeping. Stop talking about it.
Goodnight Elizabeth - 9.0 My favorite song on the cd. Wonderful.
Children in Bloom - 8.5 Another slower song by the Crows. Good. Very good.
Have You Seen Me Lately? - 8.5 One of the few faster songs of theirs that I like. Good refrain...very good. Catchy.
Miller's Angels - 8.0 Another slowy. Stick to the slow ones, guys. Good.
Another Horsedreamer's Blues - 6.0 Slower, but a no. SKIP OVER
Recovering the Satellites [Live] - 5.0 SKIP OVER
Monkey - 5.0 The title is no more promising than the song. SKIP OVER
Mercury - 5.0 No. SKIP OVER
A Long December - 8.5 This is the song you wasted your time to skip to. Good song. Catchy.
Walkaways - 5.0 1 minute song. Just turn off the cd.
Listen to the first half, scratch up the rest (BUT SAVE A LONG DECEMBER!!) I don't think this cd is worth more than 5 dollars. But, if you like the faster Counting Crows songs, maybe 10. MAYBE
