Worth checking out, April 26 2013
This is a very simply written, easily read book. Short chapters written by various writers sharing their own experiences and insights.

Read the Book!, April 26 2013
I'm sure a lot of work and money went into the making of this series, but I found it excessively violent, at least the Old Testament part. Several major characters were skipped, ie Joseph, and the overall love and compassion of a wise and caring God seems lost, as do the faith and joy and peace and guidance the characters experienced in the written WORD. In a nutshell, I would say, watch the movie if you wish, but definitely don't stop there - READ THE BOOK!!!

Interesting, Oct 20 2012
Lots of interesting information gathered together in one place. This would be great for teaching children what life was like in the "olden days".

A waste of time, Oct 20 2012
Anyone expecting the morals of a Jane Austen book will be disappointed in this one. Enough vulgar elements I threw my copy out, it's an insult to Austen fans.

Not to miss!, Oct 20 2012
Have just read this and would definitely recommend it to any adult. This would make a great gift, for either a believer or a non-believer. Very readable, including strong argument for accepting the claims of Christ.

Fascinating, April 24 2012
This is one I'd love to own; I have just read it from the local library and it is a wonderful easy to read way to travel back in time all the way to 1066, and learn amongst other things, of the origins of our own ways of doing things. It would be fun to read this to the whole family, and is full of information. Not being a historian myself, I don't know how complete or accurate it is but it looks really comprehensive and interesting. Well worth reading if you are interested in a very readable treatment of this subject.

total waste of time, April 24 2012
Thinking Dove approved meant something I purchased this one, but was totally disappointed. Numerous bar scenes, characters drinking and dancing, and very poorly developed characters, illogical plot, unanswered questions and the final "solution" to the story involved a flat-out lie made this one a movie I regret purchasing and watching. Shame on you, Dove!

Do yourself a favor, April 12 2012
I would like to add my voice to those who highly recommend this book. It rings with sincerity, lines up with Bible teaching on heaven and is definitely not a book to set down until the finish. It would be to no-one's advantage to ignore this book. I will be ordering my own copy as well as the audio version for those of my acquaintances who prefer to listen rather than read. I read a public library copy myself and look forward to having my own to read again and pass around to my friends and family. Do yourself a favor and read this one with an open mind - the info and insight in it is powerful.

You'll want to plant your own garden!, Mar 10 2012
This is not particularly a nice movie to watch, as the information in it is pretty upsetting, but anyone who purchases any of the food they consume owes it to themselves to watch this. It will motivate you to change something you do food-wise, I'm willing to bet!

a good family movie, Feb 4 2012
We got this one out of the library and really enjoyed watching it as a family. Decent, moves along well, some excitement, and a good lesson about standing up for the things you feel strongly about.
