an adrenaline junkie's wet dream, May 19 2011
this a not a horrible movie by an means.however,i would not say it is worth the full price of a movie ticket.it's one of those movies that's better as a cheap rental or maybe a reduced ticket price.sure, there's lots of action.and lots of explosions.and not much else.it really isn't anything that hasn't been seen before and after awhile,it's not all that exciting anymore.i kept checking the time, wondering how much longer until it would be over.it actually isn't much more than 90 minutes if that, but it does feel longer.as an aside, the ending did not ring true at all for me,not even in the context of this particular movie.all in all,not that great a movie.in fact, this movie itself is expendable. 2/5

the best one of the trilogy, May 19 2011
in my opinion, this is the best of three films in the series.i thought the story was better, there was more depth, not just to the story but in characterization,as well.this one was much more exciting and faster paced and even though it was the longest of the three films,it didn't seem that way.there was also more heart and soul in this film.at least i thought so.it looks fantastic on Blu-ray.all three films are wonderful and would be a great addition to your collection, but for me,this third one has that special something that makes it just a bit better.for me,Toy Story 3 is a 5/5

utterly horrifying, May 19 2011
i thought this was a great film.there are many movies about alien abductions, but i've never seen one like this.i found some of the scenes utterly horrifying, simply because of what they depicted.i have to give this movie high marks because it's not often a film unnerves me and even scares the bleep out of me,but this one did.for me,The Fourth Kind is a 9/10

what if there was a predetermined plan mapped out for your life?, May 19 2011
i enjoyed this film based on the short story by Philip K. Dick.the premise is that we are not in control of our destiny, that their is a plan for our lives.if we deviate from that plan, there is a small group of men who are sent to get us back on track, and following the predetermined plan.if we refuse to accept the plan and continue to deviate, the consequences can be dire both on an individual level and on a larger scale. This is what happens to David Norris(Matt Damon)who wants more than what fate has planed for him,and so he gets a visit from The Adjustment Bureau.i won't go any further into the plot.you'll have to watch the film to find out more.suffice to say,the movie is entertaining, thought provoking and compelling.for me,The Adjustment Bureau is a 4/5

boring and slow, May 19 2011
man what a drag this movie was.i was bored out out of my skull for most of the running time.this is easily the worst of the Resident Evil franchise so far,in my opinion.parts of it reminded me of Ultraviolet, which i hated.it also reminded me of Aeon Flux, which i also didn't like very much.this movie is not that bad,but it isn't very good.there were a couple good things about it.the undead had something that made them a bit more deadly this time around, and there was a really neat undead character introduced.other than that though,i found it slow and boring in general, and compared to the other films in the franchise.for me,Resident Evil: Afterlife is a 2/5

over the top fun, May 19 2011
this is one over the top film,in terms of violence and gore.but it's mostly done with tongue firmly planted in cheek.the nudity is gratuitous, intentionally.it earns it R rating and then some.the whole thing is absurd, but in a good way.there's not a dull moment.if you're not into excessive (and brutal)violence, nudity, sex and the like, this is not you movie.however,if above doesn't bother you, then i highly recommend this film.it's a lot of fun,but it's almost exhausting.Danny Trejo is terrific as the title character, and the supporting cast is great too.Steven Seagal has a fairly prominent role and is actually pretty good.Don Johnson is almost unrecognizable and Robert De Niro is excellent as well.as long as you know what you're in for going in,you should enjoy this film.for me,Machete is a 5/5

i was hoping for more, May 18 2011
i was mostly disappointed with this film.it takes too long to get going,in my opinion.it isn't really very funny, either,so i wouldn't use the word comedy to describe it it.plus,it never really felt like an actual movie.it felt disjointed, like bits and pieces of more than one movie.some of the action sequences were pretty good though, including a couple of car chases and and a couple of fight scenes.bun i think the word overkill can be used to describe all the explosions and chaos.Plus,Seth Rogen was annoying, not good since he was playing the title role.Jay Chou was okay as Kato, his sidekick, but Cameron Diaz had a thankless role as Britt Reid's secretary.overall,a disappointment, with a few good moments here and there.for me,The Green Hornet (2011)is a 2/5

outstanding, May 18 2011
The King's Speech is a wonderful film full of rich performances from the two leads Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush.both are outstanding in their respective roles.Firth plays.Prince Albert, who in time becomes King George VI,who has a stuttering problem and yet has to address his subjects by radio.he seeks help from a speech therapist named Lionel Logue(Goeffrey Rush)to overcome his affliction.Helena Bonham Carter is good in a supporting role as well.the film won four Academy Awards and it's easy to see why.it's very compelling and the story is well told.it's well paced, and is never boring.i'd watch it again.for me,The King's Speech is a well deserved 5/5

highly recommended, May 18 2011
this movie about the creation of the phenomenon Facebook and the aftermath is one well crafted and compelling movie.David Fincher directed it and Aaron Sorkin wrote the screenplay.s.it's not hard to tell Sorkin had a hand din it.the dialogue just pops.the acting is superb all around.the main characters are well drawn.Jesse Eisenberg plays Zuckerberg, and it's hard not to feel some degree of empathy for the character, though i wouldn't exactly call him sympathetic.Andrew Garfield plays Eduardo Saverin,a co-founder of Facebook.but it's Justin Timberlake who i found really impressive as Sean Parker, founder of Napster.he plays a totally unlikable character and pulls it off perfectly.i would highly recommend this film.for me,The Social Network is a 4/5

exceeded my expectations, May 18 2011
this remake of the classic horror film was much better than i had hoped or anticipated it would be.it wasn't as good as the original, but it was still not bad.the acting was decent enough.they changed the character of Freddy Krueger so he wasn't a carbon copy of the original.the story is fleshed out a bit more.the original had a slight bit of camp feeling to it.this version does not.Jackie Earle Haley did a good job as Freddy, and put his own stamp on the character, though no one can replace Robert England as the original.you could do a lot worse with your time than spending 90 minutes watching this film.for me,A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)is a 4/5
