I just adore the Veggie Tales tapes. These guys have the same simple-minded humor I enjoyed and engaged in as a teenager. It's like never leaving college. This episode with the ducky is one of the best, and a very interesting way to introduce the story of David and Bathsheba to kids (definitely without the sex part). This time King George (aka David) covets his neighbor's Ducky (not his wife). Catchy songs, funny plot, all in all, a great time. I also laughed out loud with the "low-budget" skit done by the Squash at the beginning. Oh, my 27-month-old likes Veggie Tales, too...especially the Ducky.
This video is so much fun. My 15-month-old starts dancing as soon as it comes on. The "Counting Crows" segment along with a little "Bob Dylan" make this just as entertaining for moms and dads. As usual, Sesame Workshop scores a winner!
I have read many Christie mysteries and Hercule Poirot is one of my favorite fictional detectives. He really shines in this book. It's different than many of Christie's other novels because there is a real sense of danger for Poirot and Hastings. I do agree with another reviewer in that it is best to have read a few stories with Hastings and Poirot before this one to truly appreciate their dynamic. Don't pass this one up, it's a keeper!
