Lethal People: A Donovan Creed Crime Novel
Lethal People: A Donovan Creed Crime Novel
by John Locke
Edition: Hardcover

4.0 out of 5 stars John Locke - Lethal People, Oct 30 2011
I read this first Donovan Creed novel Lethal People: A Donovan Creed Crime Novel because of interaction with the author on Twitter. I'm glad that I did! He takes the (sometimes ex-) government-affiliated killer for hire genre in a whole new direction. His approach is off-beat in that you probably wouldn't like his main character in real life (which is ok, 'cause the character wouldn't like you, or give a damn). And yet, Donovan has many redeeming qualities ... for a sociopathic hard-case stone killer. I will definitely add the remaining Donovan Creed novels to my "must read" list.

BTW - looking at truly bizarre pricing on Amazon - glad I bought it on my Kindle!

I was looking forward to The Detachment because I had read and loved the entire John Rain series. I really wanted to see him back in action, and also wanted to get more about some of the key characters that were involved in the series at different points (e.g., Dox). I was thrilled to see that Ben, Larison, and many of the other characters were woven masterfully into a story line that kept me awake until I finished. My only issue is that I now have to wait for his next book!
