Enjoyed the book...looking forward to next in series. It probably is best to go to the start of the Kresley Cole series as references made to previous events and characters.

If you haven't read this series from the start I would encourage you to do so. Of all the books this is not the most riveting. i would like to see more developing with the relationship between Lord Nightsbridge and the heroine. Additionally, the core characters are being left behind with just a small reference.

3.0 out of 5 stars Game of Thrones - Slow at First but Draws in In, Sept. 3 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had heard so much about the series...a friend recommended to me...however did not take the hook...until a special offer on the DVD's of the first season. The set design, costumes and film were great. The first few episodes were a bit slow, but by the middle of the season you are hooked. So much so that I went out and bought the first four books and pre ordered Season Two. The series is graphic...nudity, graphic sex and extreme violence. There was really no need for the graphic nature of the sex scenes. Disappointing that only two episodes per CD...there a total of 6 CD's...not sure why as the episodes are only 1 hour in length.

Friends who have read the books state that the first TV season is pretty much close to the book...which sets up the cast of characters for the sequels. Hopefully this is true and I look forward to the next season. CAUTION: NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THOSE UNDER 18.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing and slow., Dec 31 2010

Unfortunately, I found this book extremely boring and slow. To be fair it was comprised of two earlier books targeted at a younger audience...not in the same caliber as one comes to expect from Kate MacAlister.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bullet by Laurell K. Hamilton, Sept. 1 2010

DO NOT WASTE EITHER YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS BOOK! I can honestly say that this is the last Laurell K. Hamilton book I will purchase or read. I enjoyed all of her books up until Incubus Dreams, this marked the turning point, as the stories became more focused on sex with multiple partners, S&M etc. and left the mystery crime fighting behind. In Bullet we see the introduction of even more sex partners, sex scenes tangled within a very weak plot. Take out all the sex and the book would have only been about 10 pages.

The only way to save the Anita Blake series is to get rid of some of the characters...stop adding new sex partners...reduce the sex scenes...and refocus on the crime fighting/mystery component which made the first 5 books in the series so interesting. Otherwise, just kill the series!

3.0 out of 5 stars Sadly taking a Laurell HamiltonStoryline Turn, Sept. 8 2007
This review is from: For A Few Demons More (Hardcover)
I enjoyed the series and this book is good as well. The only issue I have is why does every female hero have to start having sex with everyone and then develop lesbian interests? If you've read Laurell Hamilton books you would see the similarities. The only difference is Laurell focuses on homosexual and multi-partners during the act itself and spends 3/4 of the book as a venue for pure porn.

At least Harrison still has not gone down that path. The story when focus on the mystery portion and action is really quiet entertaining, I just am disappointed that this sexual lesbian aspect seems to be developing. I understand the best friend is a lesbian who loves the main charactor, it adds a unique dynamic that the main character acknowledges it and still embraces the friendship.

I'm just tried of good series starting to go down hill and this increased sexual dilemas. Stick to the core story - supernatural, mystery, action with some personal interactions. Please do not go down the road of providing exotica borderline porn under the guise of mystery as does Laurell Hamiltons most recent novels.
