When the sun goes down, The Dark Game, becomes very, very real.

4.0 out of 5 stars Genesis is back, June 1 2004
Fans familiar with the Star Trek movies will recognize the title of the book from events in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn. This book takes the Genesis Device to a whole new level. Someone has stolen the Genesis Device technology, and weaponized it! Along with the technology that was stolen Dr. Marcus is also taken from her secret Federation facility for unknown reasons. Terror reigns on the scale that no one ever dreamed, not just planetary but against entire solar systems. It seems that the Genesis Device works flawlessly, but who started it? And why?
This book is thoroughly enjoyable and a blast to read. It ties in story lines from the original Star Trek and the Next Generation seamlessly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Quite a debut for Kidman, June 1 2004
This review is from: Black Fire (Mass Market Paperback)
The mind of a child is very easily molded. But what happens when you have an abusive father that works out to be more fit than the criminals he watches over in the prision? What happens when that father brings all of the rage home with him? How long until the family crumbles? Nothing you own can be hidden from a dad like this, not even your most personal posessions. When the dam breaks, all hell breaks loose with it. Eddie was left without a family the night that the strain broke the already fragile family. But if Eddie's father died that night, who is haunting him now, and why is he stalking Eddie's ex-girlfriend? Did his dad really die that night seven years ago or is this some kind of horror filled dream? Is there any escape for Eddie from this never ending nightmare?
This book is quite readable and enjoyable. Even though I figured out the ending was about 1/2 way through the book, it was still an entertainging ride. Well written and a very noble start for a budding star in horror.

Hard as Nails: A Joe Kurtz Novel
Hard as Nails: A Joe Kurtz Novel
by Dan Simmons
Edition: Hardcover
19 used & new from CDN$ 0.43

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Kurtz novel yet, April 19 2004
This is Simmons' third Joe Kurtz novel and they just keep getting better and better. These pulp style 'detective' novels are reminiscent of Chandler and others. However Simmons takes the genre to an all new level. From page one you are drawn in and eagerly wanting to turn that next page but never wanting the book to end. Each of the novels builds on the last but they grow with each new story. Start at the beginning of the series, you'll be glad you did. I can never recommend the books enough times. For anyone who wants a novel that will keep you guessing from the first page to the last, these are the ones you want. I didn't see the end coming in this one it sure was quite a surprise! Buy this book, you'll be glad you did!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Superman, Nov. 24 2003
I just cannot recomend these books enough. The quality is fantastic and you will not be disappointed at any of the DC Archives. You could spend hundreds or even thousands for a single copy of these comics or buy the stories from several of them here at a fraction of the cost. I am very impressed with ALL of the Archives so far.

4.0 out of 5 stars Last album for a really great band, Nov. 24 2003
While not thier best album in my opinion, certainly it boldly went where no one had gone before. This is pure metal plain and simple. A must for every Accept fan out there and for those of you who are not fans, you should be. One of the great metal bands of the 80's.

by Jerry Siegel
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars All of the Best, Nov. 24 2003
For the price, you cannot beat the DC Archive collections. These reprints are on high quality paper and the artwork is fantastically reproduced. It is obvious that DC placed quite a bit of time and effort into each and every book. You simply cannot find these comics elsewhere without spending much much more than you will for this single volume. I think that once you buy one of these, you will want them all.

This is the best way to get those classic stories of yesteryear that made Marvel Comics so great. This is a fantastic addition to your existing collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Always give the guy a second chance, Nov. 10 2003
This review is from: Snow Crash (Paperback)
This was my first Neal Stephenson novel and I cannot say I was impressed. I am of the belief that one sould give an author a second chance though. This novel kept the pages turning for me but left me feeling kind of empty when I finished. I wish I could say more positive things about this respected author, but this book just wasn't all I thought it could have been
