5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Point of View, Jan. 17 2003

Thoroughly enjoyable book - told from the perspective a young girl who speaks to us from heaven. The perspective she gives as the world she knew deals with her death and searches for her killer is such a unique turn on the murder mystery.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Incredible Journey into the Congo, April 23 2002
Admittedly, I love reading novelists who incorporate real history into their stories. This story of a Missionary's family who goes into the Belgian Congo to spread the Word - told from the various points of view of the women in the family - how they deal with their journey and how it affects their lives after leaving the village is an incredible tale of survival, insanity and a culture that is so very different from our own. Worth every page it is written on!

5.0 out of 5 stars Back to what's important, April 23 2002
This review is from: Tending Roses (Paperback)
Incredible little book about a granddaughter who goes back to spend time with her aging grandmother to get her ready for the distant family to move her into a nursing home. The relationship that develops not only between Grandma and Kate but also between them and the rest of the family and friends, even, is one that will make you laugh and cry and - most of all - think. Keep reading to the end - the little wonders you find throughout culminate in Grandma's "secret" to a long life...something I needed to realize, for sure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible look into another world..., April 16 2002
This review is from: Memoirs of a Geisha (Paperback)
Probably one of the top 10 books I've read in my lifetime - took forever to pick it up once I bought it - but once I did, I couldn't put it down. The portrait of the world of the fisherman's daughter sold into servitude and her rise in the world of the Geisha was a look into a world so different - so sad and yet so enchanting. It is hard to adequately describe all of the buttons it pushes while it is read.

Diary of a Mad Bride

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read for Current, Former and [soon to be] Brides, April 16 2002
This review is from: Diary of a Mad Bride (Paperback)
-And those who who want to keep loving them... Hilarious book about that girl we all know who will "never get married" yet finds herself on that trek down the aisle...Amy's diary hits on so many of the same things all of us brides go through on some level - from being the perfectly in control bride to degenerating into the "Wedding Madness." New brides should read it as a warning, former brides should read it as a good laugh at what was and friends and families of brides should read it for insight!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Chicken Soup book since the Pet Lover's Edition!, Nov. 29 2001
More than enough great stories to warm my heart for the holidays ahead. Loved the story about the Cat named Christmas. That one little story is worth buying the whole book!!

Statehood Quarters Collecting kit
Statehood Quarters Collecting kit

2.0 out of 5 stars Not that great of a kit, June 6 2000
The folder that you put the quarters into only shows one side of the quarters. For these new quarters, I wanted to be able to see both sides of the quarters. Whitman's other binder is much better.
