5.0 out of 5 stars German/Swiss Thrash Kings, May 9 2004
This review is from: Live: No More Color (Audio CD)
No More Color is a awesome release from the 3 member band Coroner. With some awesome guitar work and drumming, No More Color retains the true thrash spirit, all the riffs are downright thrasy, yet un-repetitive unlike some lesser SF thrash bands. "Die By My Hand", "D.O.A." and "Read My Scars" are probably the best songs on here, most of the songs are tru thrashy goodness, only a couple are repetitive. Bottom Line, If you like german (and swiss) speed metal bands like Kreator, Destruction, and Celtic Frost, or you want to escape some of the mediocare SF thrash *cough*Forbidden*cough*, you MUST buy this album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic BBC Peel sessions, Mar 29 2004
This review is from: Peel Sessions (Audio CD)
This is a classic Cd of the BBC Jhon Peel sessions that showcased the emerging grindcore bands, Bolt thrower, Napalm Death, and Extreme Noise Terror. Not great production, but a landmark for grindcore, almost as much as Napalm Death's "From Enslavement to Obliteration"

4.0 out of 5 stars Kill 'em all - The start of the greatest Metal Band ever, Dec 23 2003
This review is from: Kill 'em All (Audio CD)
THis CD was and still is an amazing debut from the gods of Heavy Metal - Metallica. Well the sound is not as slick as their later albums and the songwriting isn't as nearly as complex, this is an awesome debut that has the raw power that basically started thrash metal. On to the song's...

Hit the lights: (A-) One of my personal favorites, this is an awesome way to start a album; fast and raw, this is true thrash metal!

Four Horsemen: (A+) The first Metallica masterpiece, clocking in at around 7:00. This is the best song on the album and though not nearly as good as Master of Puppets, it was a great sign of good things to come. Awesome song with a killer guitar solo!

Motorbreath: (B+) Awesome stuff here, though I'm not sure what it's about. I'm guessing cars, but anyway a really catchy song. The intro is especially good, I find myself humming the tune all the time. Way better than the more recent "Fuel".

Jump in the Fire: (A) One of the catchiest Metallica songs ever, this song will blow you away! It's totally awesome, with some great guitar work (even though the whole album has great guitar work!)

(Anethesia) Pulling Teath: (A) WOW! Must be heard! The whole 2-3 minute bass solo is awesome, proving cliff burton was the king. 'nuff said

Wiplash: (B+) Really good thrash song, not much to say on this one, just listen to it.

Phantom Lord: (B) Good song, I feel it's like a stripped down version of Four Horsemen, and it's not nearly as good. Still, it preatty cool

No Remorse: (B-) Probably the weakest track on here, it just doesn't do much to keep me intristed. The pace and sound are too much like wiplash, hit the lights, and Motorbreath thrown together. Not bad, but not great.

Seek & Destroy: (A+) This is the second best track on here, the best being Four Horsemen. Nevertheless this is an awesome piece of thrash metal, a Metallica classic. Features a really cool ending!

Metal Militia: (A) The album began fast and ends fast with this thrash metal gem. The lyrics aren't the greatest but the gutar work and pace is! Awesome way to end an album that keeps you wanting more.

SO their you have it, my review

5.0 out of 5 stars Master of Puppets, Vermithrax's Definitive Review, Nov 15 2003
This review is from: Master of Puppets (Audio CD)
Master of Puppets, the best point in Metallica history, period. Everythinng was at the best for this innovative metal band; The guitars were the best, James Hetfield's Vocals, Cliff Burton's bass, the songwriting (And Justice for all comes close) were the best Metallica has ever done, most people who don't know metallica too well say the black album is the best, most people who do say this is the best...

Battery:(A-) Very good openin song, not as good as Figh fire on RTL, but still good. Drags on a bit on the end.

Master of Puppets:(A+) Probably the best Metallica in existence, excellent riffs, great lyrics,..what can I say that hasn't been said already? Even at 8 minutes, doesn't seem too long, not long enough anyway.

The Thing That Should Not Be:(A) Great melondic (spelling?) song by metallica based on a H.P. Lovecraft story, therfore the 'unique' lyrics. Great song, extremly catchy (at least for me)

Welcome Home (Sanitarium):(A-) Metallica second Ballad, based on One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Excellent Movie!). Comparing this song to Fade to lack, it easy to se where the real genious was, but this is still a good effort and great song. I don't know, I like Fade to BLack better...

Disposable Heroes:(A+) Second best song on this album, second only to Master of Puppets. Awesome, very heavy song, with some great lyrics great gutar. In my opinion a vastly underrated Metallica song. If you first get the album you'll probobly think Master Of Puppets is better, but I'm becoming to like this even more. Great Haunting lyrics (listen to them), very fast.

Leper Messiah:(B+) Intristing little song here, definitly not the best, but preatty good. Very catchy, and the transition from this to Orion is awesome. Speaking of Orion...

Orion:(A-) I'm a sucker for instrumentals (my favorite being Woodpecker form Mars by Faith No More) and this is no exception. Call of Ktulu is the best Metallica instrumental, but this does well by having a VERY catchy riff.

Damage Inc.:(B) A thrash metal anthem;Heaviest song on here. Not really sure hat it's about, except destruction, which always good for thrash. Not at all my favorite, but not a low point by any means.

And there you have it...my review. So I'f you want Metallica album that is their old stuff, and you don't have this yet..GO OUT AND BUY THIS!

I'd like to say this edition, and the movie is excellent, but it's living proof to wait to buy DVD's. All my friends had bought the original edition first, and then i just got this one. Same thing goes with T2

5.0 out of 5 stars The redemption of hollywood, May 29 2003
Great movie. Why do some people think the ending is hollywoodish? I conveys the meaning of hope! Come on! Well this is on my top ten best movie list (I don't know where, it's not in order) This movie is a great movie that has message. And an inspiring movie ...I have no problem with the movie, only some people. It is a tincy tiny bit overrated, because everyone think this is THE BEST when there are also other great movies(Schindler's List, Deer HUnter, Apocalypse NOW) out there. But it is as good as everyone(well almost everyone) says it is

IF I COULD GIVE THIS 0 STARS I WOULD. FIRST OF ALL, THE SPECIAL EFFECT ARE HORRIBLE!! Now i don't care what they say about how they have to be models, iT LOOKS LIKE ITS FROM THE 60's. THis movie [is unacceptable], acting is horrible, i don't know how it diddn't go straight to video. IF you are a DIE HARD godzilla fan you MIGHT enjoy this. Otherwise it [is unacceptable].

3.0 out of 5 stars Expression, May 22 2003
excellent action movie, but falls too much under a basic "action movie" during the end. THe things that save this from being a Jean-Cluad Van Damme film are one, Kurt Russels expressions on his face( ANd the fact he BLINKS ONLY ONCE!) and the unique approach to the battlefield of tomorrow. THe beginning with the kids being shot and them witnissing boars being slaughtered is the genious of how paul anderson can make things disturbing (EVENT HORIZON).

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremly creepy, May 22 2003
Great movie. Too bad i saw it on T.V. I could tell they cut some scenes out. Some times it goes slow paced (like after the beginning, but really takes off near the end.) Great ending. Althought the T.V. version didn't really explain it good (stupid censorship) i understood it none the less. I write more if i could remember. I'd have to see this special edition

A very good movie. I'd have to see it again to fully understand it ( I was 9 at the time) but never the less superior acting, especially Brad Pitt as the maniac. A thinking mans movie just like 2001 and Blade Runner, The director's cut. I don't know why i havent heard much about this movie before i saw it.
