5.0 out of 5 stars Best Arabic Pop Album ANYWHERE, April 23 2009
This review is from: Tab Leh (Audio CD)
I agree 200% with the other reviewers when I say that this is probably the best Arab pop album out there, and it represents the best of Arabic pop music in the past few decades. Every single song in this album is a hit on its own, even the seemingly filleresque "Ala Kaifak" (Whatever you wish). The tunes on this album are unbelievably RICH and VIVID, and Ragheb puts his emotions with very entertaining instrumentals in every second of this album. You don't have to understand Arabic to understand the music: the lyrics themselves are a beat on their own!

What amazes me most about this album is how diverse the tracks are. You have your fair share of funk (Tab leh, Sed el Ghalyeen), pure pop (Yirkhas el Ghaly, Layalina el Qadima), ballad (Ma Tekolesh Baadeen, Ahebbak), dance ballad (Agmal Amira), spicy dance (Qurbak Nar, Ma Bakash), belly-dancing beat (Ma Baadena), and folk (La Tekoly Lah). Each track has its own catchy beat and style, and are very easy on ears, contrary to some over-produced pop songs I've heard on the radio the world over.

I've been listening to this album since it came out and I think I'm going to be listening to it in the years to come as well! I've listened to the other albums he released after this (El Hob El Kebeer and Ba'sha'ak, of which the first was better imo), but they don't match the diversity and charm, color, and vividness found in the tracks from this album.

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This has got to be one of the best FPS's of all time. This Editor's Choice edition is testimony to this game's greatness in all areas. Although it bears minute weaknesses, this game is otherwise a golden addition to anyone's collection. Even though it's 5+GB (if you download maps), the variety and action in this tight package are more than enough to justify the large space it takes on your HDD. The map packs available for download are also amazing, and come to show the tremendous community that has grown out of this amazing VG.

My most favorite gametypes are deathmatch, capture the flag and onslaught. The most brilliantly crafted is Onslaught, a combination of firepower, vehicles, and strategy, but regardless, I find every gametype worthwhile, even the less popular Bombing Run, which can get intense.

All in all, a top-notch VG that will stay on my HDD (at least) for a very long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Giving Matrix a run for its money..., Dec 8 2007
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Deus Ex (CD-ROM)
Simply put, this game is more philosophical, more action-packed, more riveting, and less congested than the Matrix is or ever was. Deus Ex has got to be one of the best-designed video games out there. Why?

-Even though this game is old, and the graphics engine was slightly behind its time, it still gives you more freedom to move in the world that it's set in than any other video game I know of. Building your character's skills and biomods is totally up to you and depends on how you like to play the game: sneaking, hacking, or just blowing things up.

The plot is deep and full of twists and page-turning suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat. The conversations in the game are top notch, and the characters in the game are developed in a sense that you actually feel like you know them and have certain attitudes towards those who are both dark/shady and upright/heroic. Even better is that it's not only the goals you wish to complete that turns the plot around, but everything you (choose to) say can earn you rewards (skill points, weapons, etc.) or get you into trouble. The choice is yours.

Bottom line: if you are an RPG/FPS gamer and haven't picked this up yet, you're missing out.

5.0 out of 5 stars The album's title says it all, Jan 26 2007
This review is from: Life (Audio CD)
Overall, amazing album! Granted, it's not Ricky Martin's mainstream Latin pop over all again, but the songs in it, which have been fused with world beats (Indian, Mid-Eastern, etc.) are stellar. Surprisingly, this is also the first album of which the title track turned out to be my most favorite track in the album. Of course, not falling too far behind are the other 11 tracks, especially "Til I Get to You" (with its Middle Eastern style beats), "This is Good" (upbeat for a "slow" song), and "It's Alright". Strongly recommended for lovers of the popular music genre.
