5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent resource! Lots of maps and information, Oct. 18 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I just spent a week in Edinburgh and I relied on this book to plan my trip and navigate the city. It's full of useful information, as well as recommendations and clearly marked neighbourhood maps. I read it in advance and bookmarked the appropriate sections for my interests and it worked perfectly. Plus it's compact and fit easily in my purse. Remember that North American cell phones don't work there, so you won't be able to rely on your iPhone maps.

My only criticism would be that the maps often don't include smaller streets, so you may have to depend on landmarks and major intersections to be sure you're going the right way.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll laugh, you'll scream, you'll laugh some more!, Aug. 29 2012
I am not a fan of horror, in general; especially since it's taken a complete detour from scary and tense to just slasher-porn. I like a horror movie that makes me laugh amongst the scares and doesn't take itself too seriously, and this movie was right up my alley. The closest thing to compare it to is obviously Evil Dead 2, but with less camp. The less you know going into it, the better, but I've seen it 3 times and I loved every minute of it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a well made film!, Aug. 29 2012
Ok, I admit it, I'm a giant fan of Joss Whedon, and I've enjoyed all of the Marvel super hero movies so far, so I absolutely have a bias for this movie. But, it really is as good as all the hype. It's funny and full of action, but also full of well-written storylines and character development. It takes a character like the Hulk, whose film adaptations to date have been terrible, and makes him one of the most endearing and interesting characters of the movie. Joss Whedon knows how to write real characters in unbelievably situations, that's what he does! And this is just the latest example to prove that he's one of the greatest writers working today.

And all those guys like Michael Bay and Ridley Scott who think they know how to direct an action sequence should study this movie, because I've never seen action that was so well shot. It's amazing. Best action movie of the year by far!

3.0 out of 5 stars meh..., Dec 15 2010
Overall, the Angel comic series has been good so far. Not great, but good enough that I will follow them just to maintain a connection with the characters I love so much. But in this latest Angel volume, they may have lost me.

I understand that the comic book medium gives the writers license to do things they maybe couldn't have in the show, so I have forgiven several questionable story lines that were maybe too grandiose to be believable. Both the Buffy and Angel tv shows were super-natural stories in a real-world setting, with the characters just barely able to keep us civilains safe and unaware of the things that go bump in the night. But Spike and Angel running around Comicon is ridiculous alone, never mind that they then proceed to re-use a story line from Buffy Season 2! It's just kind of lazy writing with no direction... and if they're not going to advance the plot, then why would I bother to continue reading it? It feels like they're just treading water, like the writers have no idea what to do with these characters now that they're out of hell. And it's a shame, because I really want to want to read them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money, get the original game instead!, Dec 16 2008
Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
I love Guitar Hero. I may not be fantastic at it, but it's a lot of fun and has tremendous replay value. I've played it on Playstation 2 & XBOX and I own it for the Wii, and they were all great to play! So, I thought an Aerosmith version was almost cetain to be good, but I was sorely disappointed. Firstly, the song choices are terrible. There are several Aerosmith singles I expected to see that weren't there, instead its full of songs I've never heard of! Secondly, when you use Star Power, the audience begins clapping along with you, but the clapping is the same tempo for every song so it doesn't match what you are doing (it gets really distracting!) You get the same basic gameplay, so if you're not picky, you might enjoy it. But, to me, it felt like they took a formula that works really well, and made it bad, and I can't understand why? This could have been a good game, but it isn't.
