This item was purchased as an adjunct to a "Flip" HD/video recorder. Living in the Canadian wilderness, it is surprising how difficult it can be to find a stable horizontal surface on which to place your device to shoot. This little tripod exactly fits the bill. I have even used it with my much heavier Cannon. The cannon is the max load this device is capable of supporting and only with attention to balance. For it's original design purpose shoot and go pocket camera) it is an outstanding product.
