1.0 out of 5 stars Suckered into buying another bad book, Oct. 19 2003
Well the title of this book suckered me into purchasing it. This book is a joke and the author should be ashamed of himself. There is nothing easy about this, so the title is very misleading and is an obvious ploy to get you to buy the book. It has the same old problems of your dull, dense, jargon filled college text book. There just isn't enough explanations and the few that are in the book assume to much on the readers behalf and you still end up feeling stumped and disappointed that you didn't learn the skills. I wish I could recommend a different book for you guys out there struggling with ecnm 151 but I just haven't found a good book or an easier way to learn it....or should I say a way to learn it at all. If you want my advice, find the easiest teacher around that gives essay questions on tests or this class will hold you up from getting your degree. Also, study in groups if you can even though this is a luxury given the time constraints of college and insanely fast pace of ecnm classes. One final piece of advice is buy your college text book and start going through it a semester before you take the class because if you get a professor with and attitude and a liking to multiple choice questions your going to have a hard time. There is just too much subject matter here to master in a semester. Your professor mastered it because he/she teaches it, so don't feel bad if you get left behind on this subject. This is a typical college text book and class. They expect you to learn something on your own that you don't know in the first place and believe me you'll get no help from the instructors or this text book. The book seriously lacks explanations through out the text and on some of the more difficult and challenging problems. Oh and author if you read this...get an editor...sheesh. This book is just not a quality product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good book with general information, Jan. 9 2002
This review is from: Turtles and Tortoises (Paperback)
This is a great book to get you started in the hobby. This book is loaded with valuable information in an easy to read format with loads of pictures and examples. The basics are covered as well as a few of the more in depth topics. The chapters on breeding and hybernating are a little confusing and more information and ideas could have been added. The differences in the requirments needed by different species could have been covered also. This is a general care book. Nothing to fancy. If you want specifics buy a book on the species you are interested in.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and interesting to read!, Jan. 3 2002
This book is very well written with amazing examples to aid the reader with such complex topics
as general relativity and quantum mechanics which can be quite confusing at first glance. I am
sure to read this again as to gain a further grasp on the subjects in this addicting book that I had a
hard time putting down. It is fascinating thoughtful, thought provoking, and pleasing to read at
the same time, with many ties to popular culture and up to date physics. I must also admit that
this book made me look up to the night sky several times after I read it and in my opinion is a
great read for the physicist and non physicist alike! The author has a knack for explaining complex
ideas that involve the vastness of the universe and the tiniest theories of Quantum mechanics with
clarity and insight. This is a good one to add to the library which I will for sure pull out of mine
several times for future reference.

5.0 out of 5 stars hard hitting and brutal!, Dec 28 2001
This review is from: Iowa (Audio CD)
The intensity of Corey's lyrics and provocative usage of them is indescribable. Anyone who can convey so much emotion into a song has my vote. right form the beginning you know Slipknot means business with this hard hitting assault on the eardrums that takes you to another realm. The drums are kicking, the guitars are pounding, the samples are fierce, and the band as a whole takes metal to another level. When you listen to this album you get a perspective that is neither ugly or beautiful it just is. I bought this on a whim after not purchasing their first CD and it hit me with credulity, intensity, and pure raw emotion. What the music lacks the awesome introspective lyrics make up for and vice versa. I can't see this album deserving less then three stars just for the fact that it is so intense, almost like a Pantera on speed. This, in my humble opinion is the must have album of the year. Now to the dreaded complaints on the album. I would have liked to hear some more guitar work. A guitar solo or at least a squeal wouldn't have hurt at some point during this album. After listening to the first album I would definitely have liked to hear a little more from the sampler and DJ which almost seemed nonexistent on this album compared to the first were they topped off every song with sounds that seemed to complete the song. Altogether this album rocked and the band made true to their promise to make a heavier more intense album. This album is just different from their first not necessarily better or worse. Slipknot fans in general should be able to like both aspects and new listeners should be able to pick up the sickness along with the already infected by listening to this album!

4.0 out of 5 stars WOW, Dec 13 2001
Somone [...]said this should be required reading. Well for me it was and I was very glad to have read this book. Read the book and you'll get it. I do have a hard time finding the bridges between science and religion though. All in all it still gives the reader a unique aspect about beleif and faith. This book merely trys to point the reader in a certain direction, such as finding faith in the world around you and not so much in religious dogmas. It is up to the reader to ultamently choose his path. Very good reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read it and it will change your life!, Dec 10 2001
Every one should read this book no matter how old the text is. It will change your life and if everyone used only a small fraction of the advice in this book the world would be a better place for all of us. This is a great read for anyone interested in improving relations between, family members, employees, children ect.
All in all a great book!
