Good for children, Jan 19 2008
I knew from the previews that the movie was a weird blend of CGI (all dragons and draconians) and 80s-like cartoons (everything else), but I was hoping that the quality of the rendering of the story would make it for the lack of eye-candyness. I was disappointed... I don't want to be harsh, I know all the work such a movie asks, but if someone hasn't read the books and see this movie, he/she won't even have a hint to the inner and complicated turmoils of the characters: the movie concentrates all its attention on action, everything goes too fast, and we don't have time to learn about the characters, who they are, what they think, what they want. I watched this movie with my wife, who has never read a DragonLance novel in her entire life, and she found the movie very childish, not at all designed for adults, but she nonetheless said she was entertained and that it could give her the desire to read the books. Personally, I had the overall impression of watching old "Masters of the Universe" cartoons... But, hey, I'm a DragonLance fan, so I ought to buy it and I don't regret it.

Not a Bible, but clever and entertaining, Jun 22 2006
No verses, no prophets stories, no FSM words. Overall, only two chapters or so are spent at describing FSM deeds in a Bible-like manner. But the book is nonetheless a "must have" in my opinion: Bobby made a very good job at describing current holes in natural sciences and explaining why FSMism could easily plug into them, all of this in a non-stop hilarious fashion. For me, it really was a great fun to read. Nevertheless, I do would have liked the text to be divided into verses so to better cite The Prophet...
