5.0 out of 5 stars A Favorite, Feb 12 2000
This has always been one of my favorite Pern books. Even though I like the more traditional Pern-style books, which I define as the ones in the 'old' Pern, this is better than some. It revolves around the 'Ship-fish', which are smarter than the Pernese gave them credit for. Timewise, it occurs around and during 'All the Weyrs of Pern', and several references are made to events happening in that book. ATWOP, however, doesn't, so reading it first might make more sense. Still, this is a wonderful book, and continues the wonderful legacy and history of Pern.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wayne & Stewart, Feb 12 2000
This movie stars John Wayne, and James Stewart. How can it 'not' be good? And with Lee Marvin as the evil villain, this makes a wonderful movie to watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars So did I, Jan 15 2000
I'll have to admit, I cried at the end too. This is a really good book, and I've read it numerous times. It's really interesting at the beginning, but slacks off towards the middle, until the end where it gets better again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Tail (err....Tale), Jan 6 2000
I believe this was the first Redwall book I read, even though it isn't the first, as it is a prequal. I loved it, and went on to read all the others. It makes for a great history of Redwall to explain what happened before, but isn't just that. It is an incredible story plot, and I couldn't put it down. I'm sure that if you read the other Redwall books, but not this, you would like it even more.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read, Jan 6 2000
This review is from: The Client (Hardcover)
This is one of my favorite Grisham books, under The Pelican Brief. It moves pretty fast, and isn't boring. I can read this without putting it down, unlike some books. It might not be his best, but it is enjoyable and not bad.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Odyssey, Jan 6 2000
This review is from: 3001 The Final Odyssey (Hardcover)
This book doesn't conclude the series at all. I got to the end, and thought, "This can't be the end." It isn't that bad of a book, but goes nowhere, instead just mentioning predictions and techno-wiz wonders that could be in the future, but gives no explanation. You can't figure out what half of the things are, until characters use them enough it becomes obvious. There could be a lot of possible continuations of this plot, and it stopped in the middle. This is just the first half of the story! It doesn't even end, just breaks off with the future ahead. I was expecting something to happen, but it didn't. Sure, it explained everything that happened later, but that was all it was, having no plot line at all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Reference, Dec 31 1999
This book was probably never meant as a Teach Yourself Tolkien's Languages Like Elvish. (no, not Elvis) It is a reference book, but you can learn bits of various languages from it. I am slowly learning Elvish my self from it, and wrote a poem about some fair Elvish maiden..... Yeah, it is impractical as a source of education, but then again, none of Tolkien's languages were fully completed and documented.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest Musical Ever, Dec 31 1999
This review is from: Jesus Christ Superstar (Audio CD)
Andrew Lloyd Webber never stopped writing great musicals. This was done way back before he was famous, and it is the best. I've listened to it hundreds of times, and have the original vinyl record for it. In my opinion, there is no better version. All the people in it are singers, rather than actors, so it sound a lot better. This is the CD you want to buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best musicals, Dec 31 1999
This is actually the second version I've heard, but I think this is better. It is my second-favorite musical, just under Jesus Christ Superstar, by the same music/lyrics team. I recommend both of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best...., Aug 21 1999
This is a great movie. How can it not be, with Spielberg directing, Lucas producing, John Williams writing the music, and, of course, Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. The first scene is probably the coolest, but the rest is action-packed as well. The adventure never stops, and even the 10th time seeing it is enjoyable. This is the original and definatly the best Indiana Jones film, and not one to be overlooked.
