Don't hesitate!!, Dec 28 2002
The holidays would not be the same for us without this collection. Great liner notes and many Christmas pictures. Beach Boys Christmas tunes ...what more could you want?? Also newly available at Amazon.com, check out The Beach Boys:An American Band on DVD. Great interviews and rare live performances!! Don't miss the great Brian Wilson piano solo on Surf's Up - "I heard the word, won-der-ful thing, a children's song...."

Not Miklos Rosza, but good nonetheless!!, Dec 28 2002
I think Golden Voyage is the best of the Sinbad soundtracks and wasn't sure if I would like this score as much but find myself listening to it all the time. In the same style as the other Sinbad score's, I don't think any Sinbad fan will be disappointed and the price is right. Great from beginning to end!! As a bonus, the insert folds out into a 12x18 rendition of the original theatrical poster!! Also available at Amazon, check out Roy Budd's soundtrack for The Stone Killer if you dig those funky 70's soundtracks in the style of Enter the Dragon, Dirty Harry or The Omega Man. Ahh how I long for the 70's - the last great decade.....

How did 'AFI's Top 100' miss this one?!?!, Jan 10 2002
Why is this not on AFI's Top 100 films list?? The best action/adventure movie of all time and still stands up to any current day attempt at great filmmaking. I am looking forward to a legit DVD release but until then I will continue to enjoy my 'imported' Tawain DVD.....

Great DVD transfer lookin' good in widescreen!!!, Nov 9 2001
For anyone who loves Coburn/Bronson, great direction, stylistic cinematography or period films, this is it. I was oh-so impressed with how great this movie looks in 2.35 widescreen. Great transfer and a great price!! The ending was a bit anti-climatic, but this disc is definately staying in the collection. They don't make 'em like James Coburn or Charles Bronson anymore.......

Classic!!, May 13 2001
Kinison in top form. DVD looks great with some bonus footage of a later show when he was obviously strung out on drugs big time. Sad to see him like that. The only thing that disappointed me was the fact this is written up on the back of the DVD as a 'Never before released concert' but is actually the same exact show as the HBO tape in the yellow cover that was released in the 80's. A must have in the collection to show your friends who have never heard of Kinison. R.I.P. Sammy!!

Sloppy with your drink-Get this boy a bib- He needs his mama, April 27 2001
Great movie even better on DVD. Transfer looks good and is still as thrilling as ever. Do yourself a favor and seek out the MGM DVD release. It comes in a plactic keepcase, has 8 pages of very interesting liner notes/behind the scenes facts, and the original trailer. Westworld, "where nothing can go wrong...go wrong...go wrong..."

Boring and uneventful...., Feb 18 2001
I'm usually a sucker for this genre but I found myself agreeing with Maltin for once. The acting and dinosaur effects were good enough for this type of movie. It was the storyline and lack of creativity with the effects that killed it for me. I also feel that this being filmed in color all but destroyed the b/w Saturday matinee atmosphere that makes these movies so fun to watch. Overall, worth a watch, but I'd recommend investing in 1957's 'The Land Unknown' with Jock Mahoney before you spent a dollar on this one. It is in glorious b/w, has a similar storyline with more action/adventure and was handled much, much better.

Decent 50's sci-fi...., Jan 19 2001
This was actually a pretty decent 50's sci-fi. Make up for the monster and space effects looked pretty good and the story was acceptable with a very sad ending. Nothing really great but at this price who can complain. You can even find a used copy for around five bucks. A great and inexpensive addition to your 50's sci-fi library. Darn those 'cosmic rays'.......

Action packed adventure!!, Jan 16 2001
This may not be one of the best of the Tarzan films as far as good film making goes, but it is definatley one of the most action packed. Lots of impressivley staged chases with lions and rhinos and a very athletic Boy make for an action packed hour and a half. Gotta love that stock footage of Africa!! Can someone please tell me what kind of bird that 'chicken' looking thing was? Was that a real bird or was it some kind of elaborate puppet? Simply amazing!! I've never seen anything like that in my life!! I find the three movies with Boy to be the most action and fun for repeated viewings and Tarzan and His Mate to be the best overall film. I just wish I could get Tarzan and the Leopard Women and Tarzan's Desert Mystery on VHS.

This flick had well above average production values for the 1950's. The actual sets were spectacular(for this timeframe) and it had great use of stock footage. Sure, the dinosaurs were cheesy, but name one 50's monster that wasn't. I purchased this before seeing it and am glad to say that it will remain in my library. Most films I purchase before seeing end up on Ebay. Check it out!!
