Rene Shines! --- *Spoiler Alert*, Jun 19 2011
This movie was delightful! Partly because Rene Zellweger shines as the slightly kooky but sophisticated mother of two teenage boys who leaves her scummy husband (played by Kevin Bacon)and goes on a road trip to find another husband. It's funny, heartwarming and very entertaining!

An Australian Gem - *Spoiler Alert*, Jun 1 2011
I came across this movie and bought it sight unseen. I was not disappointed. The movie is a real gem set in Australia. A small tight-knit community of hard working oyster farmers gets an unexpected visitor. He soon blends in and takes to the odd group and finds love amongst them. The cinematography is just as beautiful as the story.

Very stylish---thanks to Angelina and Johnny!, April 12 2011
I really enjoyed this movie. It's not like the usual crazy action packed films. It's very stylish. It reminds you of 'old Hollywood' type movies. Angelina is stunning in this movie and Johnny, as usual, plays the character to a T!

Great fun to watch! Ali Larter shines!, Feb 17 2011
I love Bollywood movies so I thought I would give this one a try. Ali Larter really shines as a young actress named Marigold who goes to India to make a movie. While there she meets a handsome Indian man (Salman Khan) who choreographs her dancing. The movie contains lots of singing, dancing, comedy and romance. It's a fun movie to watch!

This book is still buzzing around in my head! - *Spoiler*, Jan 21 2011
I read this awhile ago and I still can't stop thinking about the characters. The story was so touching and gut-wrenching. It's about a young girl and her sister who encounters an affluent British couple after they wander outside the protected borders of their vacation resort. What happens to all of them is horrific. She manages to flee to America and ultimately becomes involved with the same couple. I read that it will be made into a movie starring Nicole Kidman. No doubt the movie will be just as riveting as the book was.

Exquisitely detailed and beautifully written book., Jan 21 2011
An epic story that follows the lives of four brothers in 19th century Ireland in a time of severe poverty and famine. The Foleys are eventually scattered from Ireland to Europe, America and Africa. Once you meet this family of men you can't put the book down. You sympathize with them as they brave each and every hardship. This story makes you really appreciate your comfortable life. The style of writing by the author Niall Williams is exquisitely detailed and beautifully written. I highly recommend this book.

Charming book in the form of letters., Jan 21 2011
This is a charming book that tells the story of a writer and a group of people she befriends on the island of Guernsey off the coast of England during the War. I'd never even heard of this island until I read this book. It's written in the form of letters. I enjoyed the book and thought of my mother when I read the title. During wartime her family ate potatoes to survive.

Pip, Pip...Hooray! Love this book! - *Spoiler*, Jan 21 2011
Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. I agree with a line in the book that says "A person entranced by a book simply forgets to breathe". Sometimes you forget when you're so engrossed in a good story, and this was a good story. The story is basically about a very imaginative, inquisitive girl named Matilda who lives on an island near Australia with her very religious mother. Matilda is fascinated by her sophisticated teacher Mr. Watts. Amid the chaos and violent conflicts on the island, Matilda dreams about the make-believe world of the main character 'Pip' in the novel 'Great Expectations' which Mr. Watts reads to the class. I heard that this book is being made into a movie. I wonder who they will cast as Mr. Watts? I personally think Ralph Fiennes would be perfect! I can totally picture him as Mr. Watts!
