The imagery in this novel is amazing, and the memoir is a wonderfully interesting story of what a top geisha must go through to come into her own. A great read from beginning to end!

This book was a good continuation of The Notebook, also by Nicholas Sparks. Although it had it's own plot and new generation of characters, there were small tie-ins to Ale and Noah from The Notebook, with a couple of new twists.
