Let's get something straight: the last Madonna cd I bought was Bedtime stories and it stunk, and let's just say Madonna's 100th reinvention as a British lady of means did nothing to make me run to the store. She is obviously full of it, not that interesting as an artist and up until now was totally unworthy of my $20.
Now, after hearing Confessions at a friend's house, I realized with shock and horror that this cd was so good I had to have it. All tracks are easy to listen to, the music is fun, the lyrics are catchy, and overall the cd has none of the try-hard-to-be-with-it sound of her last few singles. Actually, I'd say that "Hung Up" is the least enjoyable track, and that the rest of the album is much better. Yep, the dance leotard and orange hair have to go, but the music can stay.
