An excellent book, Dec 7 2003
I would highly recommend this book to any person considering exploring BDSM. The author clearly explains many of those things newcomers wonder about, and several things we would not think about but really need to know or would be too embarassed to ask. He offers clear, concise, often amusing, explainations of how to get started and how to find others who share your interests. He constantly emphasizes safety, (something too often ignored in the thrill of discovery) while maintaining an encouraging attitude. All in all an excellent book for anyone just starting out or maybe just curious what all the fuss is about. Even experienced players would probably benefit from reading this book. I would also recommend this book for someone who is vanilla, but whose partner and/or loved one(s), is interested in or involved in BDSM. To the growing list of people who might benefit from this book, let me add anyone involved in law enforcement, social services, or medicine, all careers which are likely to come into contact with participants. This book can answer many of your questions and help to remove some of the mystery and stigma of this often misunderstood part of human nature. The only part of the book I found that perhaps needs updating is the recommendation for the use of products with nonoxynol-9. The book was printed before the results of a study on N-9 came out last year which recommended no longer using it due to some unforseen problems. Anyone with questions on that, look it up on the net.

An excellent book, Dec 7 2003
This is an excellent book for anyone interested in the bottoming part of BDSM. It encourages, informs, and empowers bottoms. The authors make it plain that: No, you are not crazy. No, bottoming does not mean that you are powerless or weak. No, you are not alone. Yes, it is ok to want this! This is not a book on how to play, per se, but rather a book on how to be a strong, powerful bottom who can enjoy exploring that part of themselves. I recommend reading this book along with a book that explains how to get started, such as SM 101, by Jay Wiseman.

Oh my heavens!, Nov 20 2003
I was laughing so hard I scared the kitten. I have not enjoyed a book this much in a while, and I read ALOT. It took me all of 7 1/2 hours to finish. I just could not stop reading it. I don't just recommend this book, I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone!
