Not Impressed Sony, Sep 16 2011
Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this model when it first came out and paid over $700 for it. I loved it to pieces and have been a loyal Sony person since I got my PS2 when I was 14. However, about a month ago, just short of being 4 years old, my PS3 died. It smelt like burnt wires and even plugged in the red light wouldn't come on. It was completely dead (with a disc stuck inside). When I took it apart to get the disc out the system still looked brand new. Not even a spec of dust. I still have my PS2 from 10 years ago and it words like new (because I take very good care of my stuff). I'm disappointed. I expected Sony to make quality products that lasted longer. A lot of people seem to have problems with their PS3 dying aka The Yellow Light of Death (YLOD). I bought a new 320 GB model, but now all the save data for all my PS2 games is stuck on a hard drive I can do nothing with. Sadly, my faith in Sony's products has been shaken a bit. I hope my new PS3 lasts longer, if not I will be very PO'd. Because I loved it until it died, I'll give it a 4.

Classic Yet Fresh, Sep 16 2011
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
For some reason I couldn't put this game down. The game had a classic feel to it, but the plot and characters didn't feel "classic" at all. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this game. I was a little disappointed in the whole non-biological brother and sister falling in love thing (and I really dislike romance in most games), but in this one I actually didn't mind so much. It was probably mostly because the characters are strong on their own and they grow as the story progresses. There is no mushy crap. The battles were fun and just the right difficulty (in my opinion). I am looking forward to Part 2 :)

Nice Concept, Sep 16 2011
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Basically, the themes of this game are loneliness, death, isolation and desolation...and friendship and loss as well. It's pretty depressing. Don't play this game expecting anyone to go frolicking into the sunset. That said, because of the darker themes it was a bit refreshing; a change to all the happy-happy games out there. And please don't get me wrong; this game was good. It was sad (I cried at one part in particular haha) but at the same time there was something about it that made you want to go on. While I was playing I got absorbed into the world, it was near impossible not to. I liked the gameplay for this; it was different and the plot was also nice; searching for other living human beings. I would elaborate but I don't know how without spoiling some stuff. I only gave this a four because a certain...thing happening to a certain character and the fact that I am a happy person and this game rained on my parade lol. If you don't mind a bittersweet, melancholic story give this game a try. If you like happier themes and still want to try this, just be prepared to shed a few tears :'(

This is the best RPG for Wii that I've played so far (and I've played most of them). It feels like a classic and I found the overall game play rather fun. The plot is linear most of the game, but you can freely explore the world once you get the plane(?) thing (it been a while since I played, so I can't really remember what it is haha) There are side quests and you can collect different outfits which usually trigger additional events (kind of like Tales of games). The outfits are only visible in the menu screen though; they don't change your appearance during gameplay. The characters were good and surprisingly not too cliche (A little, but I've definitely seen a lot worse). I enjoyed the plot as well. The only problem I had with the game was the voice acting. In the beginning I wanted to mute my TV, but it eventually got better toward the middle of the game or so (or maybe I just got used to it lol). Bottom line: if you are looking for a RPG for the Wii, give this one a shot.

Haven't actually played this..., July 8 2011
Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
I think it should be said somewhere that this game can only be played on a PS2. I have the backward compatible PS3 (you can play PS2 games on it) but this game still requires the PlayStation 2 System Data to be installed on the PS3. Unfortunately, that data cannot be found in the North American PlayStation Store (as far as I know). I guess I should have done more research on the game requirements before purchasing this game...

Alright..., May 26 2011
Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
I honestly don't know why this game received such high acclimation. It took me just over 10 hours to beat (not including the extra battles) and the whole game is cutscene-battle-cutscene-battle. The plot was an interesting premise, but it fell short...literally. There was no surprises or edge-of-your-seat suspense. The characters were ordinary. The music was nice; all 5? pieces. The voice acting was good. The cut-scenes, which were comprised of moving pictures, were nice to look at. The battles were fun. But because I go into an RPG expecting a good plot (spanning at least 20 hours) and good characters, this game for me was just meh.
