Great book for getting right into things, Dec 31 2009
The book contains quick and easy instructions for applying a wide variety of DHTML techniques and includes sample code in each section. It is great for a beginner who is working on a small project and doesn't want to learn all the ins and outs of CSS, DHTML, and AJAX.

Severly lacking, Dec 31 2009
I did not have high expectations for this book but it still did not meet them. Books from the Visual Quickstart Guide series are far superior references for web design.

Interesting perspective on algorithms, Dec 31 2009
This book provides a very unique and interesting perspective on thinking about algorithms theory. I found the chapters on time complexity analysis and dynamic programming very clear and insightful.

Great reference, bad book for beginners, July 3 2009
This book is a great reference because of all the detail it contains, however it is an equally poor introduction to C++ for beginners as discussions on various topics are fragmented throughout the book and the author often uses constructs prior to properly describing them. Conversely, if you are an experienced programmer, or know some C++ this book will be helpful.

One of my favorites!, July 3 2009
This is an excellent novel for anyone who likes a good story. The plot is excellent and is likely to surprise you on more than one occasion.

Captivating and thought provoking, July 3 2009
This book was much better than I had expected. The author is an excellent storyteller. In addition to being extremely entertaining, it raises many interesting issues about society, human rights, and the idea of right and wrong in extreme circumstances.

Good book for a graduate student, July 18 2008
This books provides an excellent introduction to a wide range of techniques in machine learning and also serves as a good reference. However, it does require the reader to be mathematically mature, otherwise it can take some time to read through. It is probably best for someone at the graduate level (who has already taken a couple of graduate courses).
