5.0 out of 5 stars Great Summer Read., Aug. 1 2012
The opening sentence of Married by Midnight is the perfect hook for a story that will keep you reading until the last word. Lady Anne Douglas is the pawn in a plan to block a curse by becoming the bride a man she's never met, all for money and the chance to reestablish her social credentials. Her betrothed, Garrett, the youngest son of the Duke of Pembroke seeks to gain an advantage from the union as well, an advantage that should end the curse on his family. But no one could foresee just how complicated their lives could be when love becomes part of the bargain. This is a great story written by one of the best Historical romance authors being published today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stella MacLean, June 11 2012
This review is from: The Town That Drowned (Paperback)
This is easily one of the best works of fiction ever written by a Canadian author. The story is heartwarming, and has an authenticity to it that demonstrates how well the author, Riel Nason, can draw characters that resonate with any age group. Yes, it is a coming of age story, but the story is also developed against the backdrop of the inevitable building of a dam that not only changes the geographic landscape, but also each of the characters. Make this the one summer read you don't miss.

Lady Artemis Dearing will do anything to keep her nephew Master Lee with her. Hadrian Northmore is determined to gain custody of Master Lee because he is the last of his family. If Artemis had the money she would raise Lee on her own. In her efforts to keep Hadrian from laying claim to her nephew, she proposes marriage.
He accepts. But when he accuses her of being a fortune hunter, then drags her off to Durham, hundreds of miles from where she lives, trouble brews. Despite everything she begins to care for Hadrian but discovers that his heart still belongs to his wife and daughter who died of fever.
Deborah Hale's Bought: The Penniless Lady is one of those books you won't be able to put down, well written with wonderfully vivid characters.
A great read.

Indefensible
Indefensible
by Pamela Callow
Edition: Mass Market Paperback
Price: CDN$ 9.99

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Buy Book., Dec 28 2010
Ever since I read Pamela Callow's first book--'Damaged, I have been looking forward to her second book--'Indefensible. And I was thrilled to discover that Indefensible is every bit as good as Damaged. Kate Lange must defend fellow lawyer Randall Barrett against the charge of murdering his ex-wife even though Barrett has put such restrictions on her plan of defense that the case is already lost before they get to the courtroom. As Kate's efforts continue to gain her nothing by way of a defense for her client, you can't help but be drawn into the story. The skillful way Callow lets the story play out kept me reading well into the earlier morning hours. If you like a little mystery, a lot of suspense with a couple of unexpected plot twists to spice up the action, don't miss this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Read., Dec 16 2010
This review is from: Game Over (Mass Market Paperback)
I'm a newbie to the paranormal romance, and I freely admit that I was pretty much unprepared for GAME OVER, the debut book by Taylor Keating. My unease quickly vanished as I began to read about River Weston and her struggle to fix the glitches in her latest video game. When she ends up trapped in a very frightening other world, I was hooked. Chase Hawkins's spirit has been captured by the forces of the Dark Lord, and when he discovers River's presence, he fights to save her from danger. If you're like I was, hesitant to read this type of story, my advice is to buy this book as your first step into paranormal, or if you have someone on your Christmas list who would delight in such a story,
I strongly recommend GAME OVER.

5.0 out of 5 stars Damaged, June 13 2010
This review is from: Damaged (Mass Market Paperback)
DAMAGED, Pamela Callow's first novel, is everything you'd ever want in a mystery/thriller. From the outset, overwhelming anxiety over the fate of Kate Lange, her precarious position within the law firm where she's worked for only a few months, not to mention her personal danger brought on by her immutable belief that she has to track down a killer, keep the tension high. Added to all this, is Callow's incredible ability to weave an intricate tapestry of mystery, fear, pain and guilt.
If you have time for only one book this summer, let it be DAMAGED.
You will not be disappointed.

Working together as private investigators, Lindsay Fox and Nathan Fisher save the life of a client, and in the process they rekindle their feelings for each other. Perfect Partners? has it all'serious sexual attraction, suspense, family issues and an enticing past between the hero and the heroine. I''m looking forward to the next book and more of Lindsay and Nathan's story. A great new addition to my keeper shelf. This is truly one of C.J. Carmichael's best books, with more to come. Bravo!
