Disappointment, May 9 2010
I too was excited to get the next installment in the series and was completely let down. As others have noted, it felt rushed, disjointed and out of sync with the previous books: for example Dermont - we met him in the previous book as someone capable of charming two of Sookie's close friends, but suddenly he's insane and incapable of completing sentences, and has meant to have been this way for years?
Without even trying I count 13 separate sub-plots that are introduced and go unresolved. I was shocked to realize I'd made it to the final 20 pages with nothing really advancing - one long build up to no resolution. Less action, less sex, less humour than we've come to expect and enjoy. Too bad.
