5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Concorde Book!, Sept. 22 2010
This review is from: Concorde Passion (Hardcover)
This is an amazing book which shows the often neglected French side of the story. The pictures are magnificent and anyone into aviation will be impressed with the wealth of information and historical detail contained within. A must have for Concorde afficionados!

5.0 out of 5 stars Watch THIS Movie!, May 1 2009
This review is from: Religulous [Import] (DVD)
Bill Maher is an amazing talent and his opinions and views of the world have often gotten him into trouble. This movie is no different. BUT! This is one of the most important movies that has come along in a long time. It asks us to use our intellect and dispels a number of myths being propagated by all organized religions. No one is spared. If you are deeply religious, you may be offended. On the other hand, if you are capable of thinking for yourself whether you are deeply religious or not, you may find this movie stimulating and it may lead you to discuss the issues brought up in this movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Annie Leibovitz: Life Through A Lens, May 1 2009
This DVD is beautifully filmed and produced. It chronicles the storied career and amazing talent of Annie Leibovitz whose spectacular photographs have appeared in magazines all over the world. She is probably best known for her work with Rolling Stone magazine and Vanity Fair. However, it is her work as a photo journalist that is some of her most poignant work of all. As a photographer myself and a fan of her work, I was delighted by the insight into her life and career as well as the cameo appearances of her subjects who had interesting accounts of how the photo sessions went. I won't give them away, but their stories are well worth hearing and some may even inspire a chuckle or two.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark, Twisted, EVIL... and FUNNY!!!, May 1 2009
How can you go wrong with a collection of "Pearls Before Swine?" Stephan Pastis has a twisted and warped sense of humour which appeals to many people. Everyone has their favourite character in the strip and it is so hard to pick just one. They are all engaging in their own way. If you are a fan, you should buy this right now. If you have never read or seen this strip, this collection of strips is great. You will probably fall in love with it and want the complete set. ENJOY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Arthur C. Clarke Fans Rejoice...., May 1 2009
What can I say? The book is always better than the movie. However, the movie does not have to be worse than the book. It can be different. This is the case with this movie. 2001 was a watershed in many ways in terms of science fiction both in book and film form. Either movie can stand on its own merits and terms. If you are a fan, watch both of them back to back. I don't know if anyone has the energy or desire to do it, but it would be fantastic if the rest of the books were turned into movies as well as the story does not end with 2010. Buy the books that continue the story to its conclusion and for that matter, buy the whole set and read them. They are well worth it. Arthur C. Clarke is one of my favourite authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Animated Fun For The Whole Family, May 1 2009
The Madagascar movies are turning into a bit of a franchise. The first one was fantastic and this one is even better. I have both on Blu-Ray and the colours and animation are top notch. This will appeal to every member of your family from 3 years to 300! The penguins are a riot and so is the bonus short featuring the penguins. I was surprised and delighted to hear BOSTON's "More Than A Feeling" in the movie. It was touching and wonderful and a great tribute to a fantastic band and deceased BOSTON lead vocalist Brad Delp.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Absolutely SPECTACULAR IMAX Movie, May 1 2009
I already have the standard definition DVD version of this and it contains some spectacular footage taken by IMAX cameras. The Blu-Ray version of most IMAX films is usually significantly better than the standard definition DVD version so I can't wait to get this one into my hands and Blu-Ray player. Of the IMAX movies I've seen, this one is a favourite that I enjoy viewing every now and again. Tom Selleck does the narration and his voice is pleasant and easy to listen to. The movie is well written and produced. If you enjoy aviation and aircraft, this one is for YOU! An absolute must for aviation enthusiasts and even those who just marvel at the magic of flight.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST for BOSTON Fans, May 1 2009
This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This is a fantastic collection of songs representing the storied recording career of BOSTON. Mastermind Tom Scholz delivers the goods in a big way. The songs have been remastered and tweaked so the sound quality is superb. If you already own the previous Greatest Hits package, get this one too because it offers a different selection of songs as well as a new booklet with never before seen pictures as part of a tribute to Brad Delp and as a retrospective of BOSTON. Having heard the remastered versions of the debut and Don't Look Back, I was delighted by how much better "Amanda" and other songs from Third Stage, Walk On, and Corporate America sound. Tom is working on a new BOSTON cd and I can't wait to hear it. When he has time, I hope that we get a remastered version of Third Stage, Walk On, and Corporate America as well. I know, I'm asking for a lot.... but it would be great. Too bad I can't give this one 10 stars..... and a guitar spaceship too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Can I give it 6 stars???, May 1 2009
This review is from: 70s (Audio CD)
Sylvain has a spectacular voice and his renditon of "More Than A Feeling" by BOSTON is the best cover of that song I've ever heard. When BOSTON lead singer Brad Delp passed away, I didn't think anyone would ever be able to capture the essence of the song and do it justice. I am very glad to have been proven wrong. While the cover versions of the songs on the CD are faithfull to the originals, they are not verbatim note for note, word for word copies. The arrangements and production are outstanding as is the musicianship. If you like classic rock, this is for YOU! Buy this one now. I would absolutely love it if Tom Scholz gave Sylvain a call and asked him to record a song or two with the rest of the group.
