5.0 out of 5 stars I stand impressed; flabbergasted how much this film surpassed my mild expectations., May 3 2014

Its skeleton is the tale as we know it.
The muscle is an investment of a wider range of mythological concepts.
The heart and blood flows with its own life, with themes of fundamental relevance to the human condition: among them questions of innocence, corruption, justice, loyalty, obsession, will, science, nature, and love.

This is not a would-be historical or religious movie; it is a revitalization of the myth, contextualized for today's audience as any other (if not more-so).

Does it take place in the distant past, or distant future? The traditional setting may seem clear, but there are allusions to current human problems with itself and the rest of the natural world. Introduced early on in the story of the film are the characters of the Nephilim, or 'Watchers', guardian angels who took pity on Adam and Eve, and were cast out of heaven for it and trapped in earthly forms. They gave Humanity scientific knowledge to survive with some dignity on the brutal Earth that they now inhabited. But to their alarm, Man went too far and wished to overstep His boundaries in abusing the Earth for its natural resources. In response to the Watchers' protest, Humanity drove them out and hunted them. I think there is a striking metaphor of The Scientist, here, accompanied by a reminiscence of Prometheus.

There are further comparisons I can make, and was reminded of things here and there, such as an interview with Neil deGrasse Tyson when he talked about Scientist's Guilt and path to redemption. On an unrelated subject, I was reminded of a certain Star Trek TNG episode. But discussion of those things and the rest should be among people who have seen the film; I do not want to spoil it.

I see no heroes in this movie. Nothing is clear-cut. Who is most feared or sympathized with by a concerned audience might shift regularly throughout, and vary between viewers. Truth can be found coming from the mouth of protagonist and antagonist, alike. It is as nuanced, allegorical, and subjectively offering as a myth needs to be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Complete series at an affordable price., April 23 2011

It is what it is: all of Dragonball GT, remastered, for a low price with both dubs and both music tracks. Back when an old dub of GT aired on tv when I was a kid, I enjoyed the action and adventure as much as I did with dragonball and dragonball z, as GT tried to recapture the feeling of both series- which I think they did a good job on. So if you're a fan, this is the definitive buy if you want GT on your shelf for you to play at any time.

5.0 out of 5 stars DDR is cool., Aug. 5 2010
This game is cool, fun, and gives you lots of exercise as long as you're willing to put in a little time at the beginning to get good enough to play a decent difficulty long enough. As you get better and raise the bar, it'll go from Basic (which is equivalent to jogging), Difficult (slow run), and Expert (a sprint).
