disappointing, very disappointing, May 31 2004
now, many of you will want to criticize me for writing this, but i was expecting this to be a rock Postal Service. I was wrong, it is too sour of a CD. I was very disappointed. The first song was good but that's about it. if you like postal service, stick with that okay.

Thank you Slipknot for releasing a very good CD!, May 31 2004
I was highly disappointed with Iowa. I only liked out of the whole CD 2 songs. It was disappointing, and besides there was too much cussing as with the first CD. I was hoping when I heard SK was making a new album that it would be better than Iowa, and I got what I wanted. It not only is a balls out assault on the ears but it also has peaceful acoustic breaks that are very rare in metal bands. What I want to know is why did Slipknot decide not to curse on this album. To me, no cussing makes a CD so much better. There are so many good songs on this CD, that will make any fan happy. Check this CD out, it is really really good. From what I hear Stone Sour is actually a softer version of Slipknot with Corey as the singer. I will have to check it out.

Great music for a movie trailer...., May 30 2004
so much so that if you go to Quicktime.com and look at the trailer exclusive for the upcoming indie film "Garden State" you will hear TPS' "Such Great Heights", if you have heard this song, then you know that it is already an amazing song, but when I saw the trailer for this movie, and I heard "Such Great Heights" I was so joyful, I couldn't stop myself from watching the trailer over and over again. Seriously, watch the trailer (it is the first song that plays), and if you like that song, then definitely pick up this CD, it is such a great CD.

When listened to, brings back the memories of the good days!, May 22 2004
I remember first hearing this when my dad had the cassette, he played it all the time in the car and I loved it. It had some of the best songs on it (I was really into poppy and alternative rock music at the time) that I had ever heard. I was in elementary school when I got this on CD and it made me so happy to hear these great songs. I'm in high school now, and I was digging through my CDs to find some oldschool stuff I could listen to. I found this in my collection and looked at the disc and was deeply saddened, the disc was so scratched up, that it could barely be played. So I tried burning it (because when you burn a CD most of the time, the burner reads over the scratches and can make another perfect copy) and to no avail, the burner kept messing up due to the scratches. I was sad, so I listened to what I could, and it brought back great memories. But I have one question: what happened to Lit? After 2001's "Atomic" (which was a bad move, sorry!) they just dropped out of sight. I want Lit back! BRING THEM BACK!! I saw them in concert and would like to do it again!

What is this? This is not No Doubt!, May 22 2004
I know No Doubt was a ska band before Tragic Kingdom and all, but this is way beyond ska, this is put me to sleep music. It is not the No Doubt I know and love. I love the No Doubt CDs, but this one and "Rock Steady" have to be the poorest ones. Rock Steady was alright at points but "ND" was a bad CD, not what I like. I give it 3 stars because I love No Doubt and I especially loved it when I saw them in concert during the Return of Saturn tour, they were prime then! If you want to be introduced to No Doubt in a good way, I highly recommend (the pricey but still worth it) "Boom Box" box set, it has the Singles 1992-2003 CD (which has all the good songs), a B-Sides/Rarities/Remixes CD, and 2 DVDs each containing their videos and the Live from the Tragic Kingdom concert which many of you may already own on VHS. But hey, if you're a hardcore No Doubt fan, then just buy this one, but be ready to be disappointed!

gets me through the hard times, May 21 2004
now most of you who don't care about life stories, just skip the review right now, because I frankly don't care if you don't want to read it, today was a bad day and i just wanted to tell you guys who put down this album because its nu-metal, to shut up, you whiny punks! we could have had another Load or Reload but no you whiny people have to complain at what we get. You want old Metallica, go buy some Motorhead, Iron Maiden or any metal group, I don't care, just bug off, and stop degrading this album. Anyway, onto my story. Today I had a really depressing day, and I figured why not put a CD on and try to cure the depression. So I picked my St. Anger CD out of the drawer, and put it on. Once it got to tracks 5 and 9, these songs pretty much said what I was feeling today. The tracks (which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!) are Invisible Kid and The Unnamed Feeling. I really enjoy these songs. This got me through today. without it I probably would have sat in my bed and cried myself to sleep. But no, Metallica helped me out! so you wanna know something all you whiners, buy this album! ROCK OUT, it may be the last time that Metallica puts out an album. If you're really feeling up to it, buy the CD and go see Some Kind of Monster in July when it comes to theaters! Peace out babies!

WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED?!?!?, May 18 2004
I was waiting for the ultimate return of Incubus but what I got was I don't know, just very disappointing. What happened to the great magic this band had? it all went away! seriously if you're going to buy this CD, buy it used, it is not that great at all with the exception of "Megalomaniac" that is about it!

why does everyone like this band so much?, May 18 2004
i just don't get it. people love this group. i shouldn't say love, i should say like. the band is so i don't know, copycat i guess i can say. i don't know, when i bought this cd i was expecting something very cool, very good, and very awesome! what i got was a poppy punk album. i mean i love pop punk music, but come on when someone tells you this is an emo album, they are lying to you. you want an emo album buy Haste the Day's "Burning Bridges" or Further Seems Forever's "The Moon is Down" or "How to Start a Fire" (I don't recommend this one, it is too, blah!). there is only one or two good songs on here though like "Last Train Home" but how many times can you take that one without wanting to throw the cd out the window and I like "We Still Kill The Old Way". the rest of the CD is good, but buy it cheap if you really must have it. But if you want a CD well worth your money buy Haste The Day's "Burning Bridges" or Further Seems Forever's "The Moon is Down" (softer emo, but still an awesome album!)

Solidstate keeps kicking out great CDs this is one of them!, May 17 2004
I saw the first Demon Hunter in stores about a year ago and was pretty hesitant on buying it until I heard a few songs off of it and then I would make my decision. I listened to one of the songs and it sounded too nu-metal-ish. They had a cool Slipknot sound which I really love. But now I'm starting to purchase alot of Solid State CDs that come out because I haven't bought a bad CD from them yet, and I read about this one coming out and thought I would give it a try. I saw it at Best Buy for a good price, and picked it up. I put it on and from the first track to the last, I was hooked. Demon Hunter has to be the best band on Solid State right now. They have such a great sound that isn't too repetitive and isn't too thrashy. I like thrashy and repetitive music but I'm starting to not like it, so this was kind of a hesitant buy for me, but I really did enjoy it. If you are hesitant about buying this CD here is what the band sounds like and I'll review each of my favorite songs: Sounds like: More Slipknot than Living Sacrifice or Extol, but one or two songs have a Linkin Park with screaming sound which is cool. Songs: 1. Not Ready to Die: 10/10 a great way to start the album out. 2. The Awakening 8/10: Okay song but overall pretty good 3. Beheaded 7/10: once again an okay song. 4. My Heartstings Come Undone 9/10: very good song this one sounds like Linkin Park 5. Our Faces Fall Apart 11/10: Amazing song, very very infectious! 6. Less than Nothing 9/10: Cool track 7. Summer of Darkness 10/10: very cool! 8. Beauty Through The Eyes of a Predator 9/10: Once again an okay song. 9. Annihilate the Corrupt 10/10: From here on out the CD is smooth sailing all 10s! BUY THIS CD AND SEE THEM ON TOUR DURING THE SUMMER OF DARKNESS!

good for the first half then starts to slack off..., May 13 2004
i bought this CD because it was on sale at wal mart, and decided to pick it up and try it. once i heard headstrong, i was like here we go another hoobastank like band. i heard the first batch of songs, and said this is a pretty good CD, but for some reason, towards the end it started to sound weird. Now, by far this isn't the most original band of all time, but if you can find the CD for a good price somewhere, then go ahead and buy it, or better yet download it and save yourself some money. It is an okay CD but if you're looking for a really good CD check out Hoobastank "The Reason" (sounds slightly better than their debut) or some old school Staind like "Dysfunction" or "Break the Cycle" but since they are older and you're looking for Trapt, you probably have them, but still break them out. Hear some of the songs on this CD though, they are quite good. You will be singing them alot, I guarantee it.
