An amazing recording, Oct 1 2000
This is the only Mamas and Papas recording I have, but I'm glad to have this one, since it's truly one of their best compilations. I find it amazing that despite much personal turmoil, this group managed to produce such beautiful music. The harmonies are perfect, and many of them evoke strong emotion. I would recommend it to anyone who loves good (sixties) music. This CD obviously has most of The Mamas and the Papas' greatest hits, including California Dreamin', Monday Monday, and a personal favorite, Creeque Alley. This album chronicles good times and bad times of a great group. Hopefully it will be re-released soon!

A Must-See-to-Believe Film, Aug 14 2000
I'm sure anyone who has ever heard of Rocky Horror has heard about it's strange cult following. Why, you ask? The Rocky Horror Picture Show is truly one of a kind. I have seen the movie at least twenty times in my lifetime (that's not a lot, compared to true fans), and surprisingly, it has never once bored me. Upon one viewing, I decided that I was too tired to really watch, so I was going to fast forward through parts of it. By the first song, "Science Fiction Double Feature", with those big, red lips up on the screen, I was hooked. The songs are very catchy, with funny lyrics that will stay in your head for weeks to come (a mixed blessing to some). Tim Curry gives his all as Frank-n-Furter, a scientist from another planet who has strange parties in the middle of the night. This part showcases his great voice, and his over-the-top acting. Also recommended for fans of Susan Sarandon. This is one of her earlier works, and you can tell that to this day, she is a little embarassed about it. If for nothing else than a pop culture reference, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a must-see. Obviously, some people will not like this film, but it's their loss.

A Great Pick-Me-Up, July 23 2000
I am new to ABBA, as well as most '70's music. I found that this album is full of peppy, upbeat songs that are sure to bring anyone out of the blues. I love the angelic voices of the female singers, as well as the the swinging disco beats. Every song is great. A must-have for music fans.

"Classic!", July 22 2000
Clueless. A gem from director Amy Heckerling, the queen of teen flicks. This is one of my favorite movies. I know it is not for everyone, but I think anyone could enjoy Cher and Dionne's shrewd fashion sense, and irreverant slang. Alicia Silverstone has true talent, and yet she still agreed to act in this movie (ha ha). A modern take-off of Jane Austen's 'Emma', Clueless follows the antics of Cher and Dionne, two rich high school girls who have much in common, including the fact that they were both "...named after old stars who now do infomercials!" I cannot say that this movie is a classic to be treasured forever, but it certainly amuses me. If you like high school movies with memorable characters and a lot of witty charm, I definitely recommend this.

A Good Example of a Great Show, July 3 2000
I thouroughly enjoyed this set of videos. I am relatively new to the Avengers, meaning that I have not [yet] seen any other episodes, but nonetheless I found this fascinating. After viewing all three videos several times, I have concluded that The Avengers is a show definitely worth anyone's time and attention. The [sexual] tension between Steed and Peel is captivating, and quite interesting, even to a newcomer. I cannot compare Mrs. Peel to Cathy Gale, or um...that other woman (see?), but as soon as I purchase several more of these videos (and believe me, I will), I will get back to you, the public.
