5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating!!!, Dec 18 2002
A.N. Roquelaure puts a new spin on an age old tale! 15 year old Beauty is awakened by the prince not with a kiss but with sexual initiation. Overwelmed by her beauty the prince takes her to his neighboring kingdom and starts her on the road to sexual dominence and submision. Beauty is the princes personal pleasure slave and must please him at all cost. Even though it includes daily spankings with paddles, whips, bare hands and crops. It is a journey into the world of BDSM that most readers will know little about at the beginning of the first book but will by the end of the third book! Anne Rice really does her home work for these novels and one must wonder if she should not by credited as Mistress Roquelaure. I enjopyed the books very much as she goes into great detail to draw the reader into the story. These are books for open minded people. Not the prudish! A.N. Roquelaure weaves a wonderfully erotic tale of the sleeping beauty legend complete with a "Happily Ever After" ending. A must read!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars As charming as they come!, Jan. 13 2002
Baa, Baa Black sheep have you any wool? So goes the age old rhymn. But did you know it had verses about dogs, pigs cats and even a horse. Everyone is knocking on black sheeps door but all sheep wants to do is knit, knit, knit. The other animals feel black sheep is not being a good friend and neighbor but are they all too quick to judge their woolly pal? Children and adults alike will smile when they see what black sheep has been up to.THIS is my favorite of Iza Trapani's books. A must have!

What The Little Fir Tree Wore To The Christmas Party
What The Little Fir Tree Wore To The Christmas Party
by Satomi Ichikawa
Edition: Hardcover

3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointing, Dec 8 2001
I looked at this book at the book store and found the pictures very repititious and lacking in charm. The little fir tree did not seem to have that touch of realism that would have made the story believable. I'm a big fan of Satomi Ichikawa and feel that her wonderful talent could be better used on another Nora or Tanya book. I didn't even purchase this book. I'll save my money for the soon to be published "Tanya and the Red Shoes".

5.0 out of 5 stars Another WINNER from David Christiana!, Aug. 25 2001
A little girl has a magical coat with six magic buttons on it. Each day she goes out and helps someone in need. A very hot giant is given a button with the word cold on it, a frozen swan is given the warm button. Soon all six magic buttons are given away. At weeks end the little girl is scolded (mildly) by her parents for loosing her buttons. She looks into the pocket of her coat and finds......? You'll have to read this wonderful book to find out. David Christiana steps up to the plate and hits yet another homer with his wonderful watercolor paintings! The cover picture alone is worth the price of the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book!!!, July 12 2001
This review is from: Karate Boy (Hardcover)
This well written books follows nine year old David and his best friend, Georgie, through their once a week karate classes. Young readers will learn that a dojo is the name for the studio, an obi is the color belt worn and that a senei is a teacher. Blocking, sparring, punching are taught with respect for your opponent. The books ends with David and Georgie taking and passing their green belt tests. This is a great first look at a karate class for children. It would be good for parents to buy for a child, boy OR girl, who is thinking about join this wonderful sport.

Jennifer's Rabbit
Jennifer's Rabbit
by Tom Paxton
Edition: Library Binding
3 used & new from CDN$ 732.85

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Enchanting!, May 24 2001
Jennifer's rabbit runs away one night and she chases after it with the help of her other stuffed animals. They follow the rabbit through the woods and on to a moonlit beach where they all stop long enough to build a beautiful sand castle. Next it's off to sail on a red sailed ship with a crew of friendly pirates. This is a gentle story told in verse. The BEAUTIFUL watercolor paintings of the very talented Elizabeth Miles, alone, make this book worth the price you pay for it. It will delight every child and make grown- ups wish they were children again!

This is a book written as a poem. It is about the love between a parent and child. The subjects are a teddy bear parent and teddy bear child. They play together and express their love for one another. Satomi Ichikawa's pictures are reminisent of her Fickle Barbara book. A wonderful book to read at bedtime!
