If anything, this IS the definitive collection! These are some of the greatest songs ever recorded! Everyone should own this CD.

The Singles shows why The Carpenters were a force to be reckoned with during their time. Everybody loved them! And so do I.

Well, at least these arrangements are by the original artist. However, the original was always great. Why try to improve on them. There are no vocals on these pieces which adds a great dimension to them.

Richard Carpenter is a very talented pianists, composer and arranger. I believe this CD is worth buying, especially by teh biggest Carpenters fans.

If you listened to these songs today, they would still me timeless! Great dance songs. They sure knew how to mix songs well. not one song is a disappointment. Nearly 15 years alter, I still find myself listening to this CD!

Mariah Carey was so big int eh early 90s that MTV immediately gave her a spot in their Unplugged line-up. Her modesty was sweet. The big hit from this CD is her cover of the Jackson 5's "I'll Be There." The rest are songs from her previous 2 albums.

Mariah quickly capitalized on her new-found fame of her debut album with her sophomore effort, EMOTIONS. she continues to used her powerful pipes to sing upbeat songs and ballads. This collection is more centrally focused on romatic ballads about love found and love lost.

The Gospel-tinged MAKE IT HAPPEN was a big hit for her.

Before she became the Diva and went overboard on the vocal acrobatics, mariah sang songs with such powerful emotional and sweet sensitivity. She was modest yet strong. She was socially aware yet romantic.

From beginning to end, the CD covers ballads to upbeat to Gospel. A very nice collection of songs.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CD TO EVERYONE!!!!!

LOVE WILL KEEP US TOGETHER will forever be the song that epitomizes the Captain and Tenille. Songs like MUSKRAT LOVE are easily forgettable. Toni's versions are SHOP AROUND and I WRITE THE SONGS are okay but not as good as the original. Not enough umph!

There are a lot more vocals on this disc than his previous works. Some of the songs work well without the voices, though. Brickman has a gift for transforming musical notes into beautiful arrangements. However, the voices detract from teh talent.

That's what the CD does for the listener. It takes you back to a simpler time where things were easy and sweet. A very soothing CD.

Not only does this CD include the original ballad version, it also includes the smash dance version and the instrumental ballad version!

This is great! A perfect single because it doesn't include remixes that are repetitive and boring.
