YOU'RE NOT LIKE YOUR DAD. No style, just bad., Jun 27 2004
I just love Tito Puente--he had real style. But his son is just a sad reflection of his own generation--not conspicuously unique like his father but arrogant and loud. This is a waste of money--the cacaphonous bang-bang-bang rap without highs and lows is just LOUD MUSH. I'll even bet he thought his dad was old-fashioned for his REAL STYLE, not this garbage pile. Guess the old-style exquisite salsa and mombo of Prado Perez and Tito Puente is gone forever--those were the days when "practice pays"

MENTAL TRANSPORT, the best sort, Jun 23 2004
Now this I like. Combustible Edison goes so great with Esquivel and the exotic islands music of Martin Denny, Arthur Lyman and Les Baxter. This is fascinating, uplifting and complex music. Perfect lounge therapy music! If you like exotic islands musica you will like the mental transport of C.E.

he's always been the best--then, and now, at his crest, Jun 19 2004
I saw James Brown when I was sixteen. It was the most electrifying performance I had ever seen and I never forgot how his music made me feel. His charisma is as great on this album as it was 35 years hence. I can't stop dancing and it thrills my soul every time I hear it! This guy is the King of Soul and always will be. If you only get one of his CDs, get this one--you'll hear it over and over again!

EXCELLENT BACKGROUND ATMOSHPERE FOR THINKERS, Mar 15 2004
I have purchased all of Munir and Omar Bashir and other "Arabe Traditionelle". It's the old style--like Hacienda music for afternoon contemplation. This type of singular OUD music forms the background of my life--it evokes rich thought. These are excellent for thoughtful types and I would also recommend Beken, Ammouri, Naseer Shamma and Hamza el Din. I'm down on frenetic, loud and distracting belly dance on UP on CONTEMPLATIVE, EVOCATIVE BACKGROUND OUD. ALL of Munir and Omar Bashir CDs can be counted on for such divine inspiration!

HAMZA IS MY MAN, Mar 15 2004
Ever since his music in the movie PASSION IN THE DESERT, I fell madly in love with the sound of Hamza El Din. I love the music of the middle east (the contemplative OUD, not the chaotic loud belly dance) and Hamza El Din encapsulates this wonderful sound. I loved the album "wish" but after that movie I went out and got all his CD's and loved every one. I live in the California desert and this music magnifies my desert experience so so much. I will never tire of Hamza El Din!

a total boring non-nature-sound rip-off by a corny music gro, Mar 2 2004
What a total disappointment. I wanted to hear a "soothing tropical surf"--the nature sounds made by God. Instead I got one entire song of the corniest music I ever heard, by a group who thinks their stupid sound is superior to nature. UGH! This is a terrible rip-off. If you want to hear good nature music, don't get this one!
