5.0 out of 5 stars Superb finish by Don Davis to an absolutely awful movie, Nov. 5 2003
This review is from: The Matrix Revolutions (Audio CD)
<<<<<While the music is good, I must say I was seriously disappointed with it. When I picked it up in the store, I saw that there were no songs played by bands, just music made by a fellow named Don. I hesistated for a while to buy it or not, I did. I found the music to be good, albeit very similar to typical movie background music, but was very let down by the lack of the great music that made the first two soundtracks amazing.>>>>
Ok how stupid are some people???...."This is a score CD!" not a Various Artists CD. The Score on this album is a brilliant bundle of music put together by composer Don Davis.
Plus the last Soundtrack CD "apart from Rob Dougan on CD1" were all completely [bad] songs and what made them even more a joke were the fact that most of the songs were not even in the movie.
CD2 is what most people bought it for "duh"
It's just a shame the movie was an absolute piece of "monkey [doo]"

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic movie with an absolutely Classic Score!, Oct. 26 2003
When I first saw this movie I just could not believe how well it had been put together by director Richard Donnor. Harvey Stephens was the perfect choice to play Damien "cute but evil". The Scene where he looks at the dog and waves is just a classic!, and then there is the score...Jerry Goldsmith won a well deserved oscar for this movie in which he created two excellent themes "Ave Satani" and "Piper Dreams" which carry this movie along with brilliance.
I was only slighty disappointed by this DVD.
Even though the picture looked better then it had ever looked before it was still not up to scratch with traces of dust still visable on the print etc.
I thought the New Stereo mix was a vast improvement over the boring original mono track, adding more depth to Goldsmith's score but it was still not good enough (It deserved a full 5.1 Remix)
The features on this DVD are interesting and add story to how The Omen came about and you also get the theatrical trailer and a rather good commentary track by Richard Donnor.
People always try to compare this film to "The Exorcist" why???..The Exorcist is a classic all on it's own, So what it came out first (big deal!)
The Omen has one thing The Exorcist does not "a classic score" The Exorcist used Tubular Bells "That was not written for The Exorcist" (It became famous because of it).
This movie is a horror classic and will remain a classic for many years to come.

4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfying 1st Sequel and Pretty Poor 2nd, Aug. 24 2003
Poltergeist II:
Satisfying sequel to "Poltergeist"
This Second Movie could have been slightly better, for example it could have featured more footage of Julian Beck as Kane and should have not omitted key scenes that were filmed but ended up missing due to MGM rushing Production. On a whole though I liked the Second Poltergeist Movie and was pleased with the story they dreamed up as to why the Poltergeist's attacked the Freelings in the first Movie. So many people seem to think the Second Movie is set 1 year after the first "It is not!" If you have reed the book you would know that Diane, Steven and the kids have been staying with Diane's mother for nearly 4 years and when Steve says "It's been a full year" he is referring to the fact that he has tried "yet again" to claim for the house disappearing and has had to wait a full year to get a response again.
I thought the ending could have been better too as that also felt rushed I mean, "Where did Tangina go when Taylor drove off???" She is clearly missing from the shot.
One thing I respect about II is that it made common sense and pretty much featured the original cast obviously missing Dominique Dunne who was murdered by her violent boyfriend.
Just think if this had never happened II would have been so very different as Steven Spielberg was considering doing a second Movie along with Tobe Hooper and scrapped the idea when Dominique Dunne was murdered.
The Scene in Poltergeist II where Diane Mentions Dana being away at college was filmed but was stupidly cut by MGM'S Producer on the movie, Freddie "Jackass" Fields who was the biggest mistake to have ever worked on this movie (he is the man directly responsible for all of the movies plot holes) Thankfully he was finally fired in 1990!
I know that a good 26 minutes of Footage was cut by him from Poltergeist II and this is why it so badly needs to be restored and re-released as a Special Edition.
I think if this version had been released back in 1986 Poltergeist II would have had very good reviews.
All of the put-downs by critics were mainly regarding chops to the Movie and script plot holes.
Poltergeist III:
"Poor Movie only worth watching for O' Rourke's last performance"
The 3rd Movie was just awful, "I'm not even going to waste my time".
Poor little Heather O'Rourke died during filming which was such a
"She was the only thing that saved this Movie from being a total
R.I.P Heather -xxxxxx

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Great Vid!, May 23 2001
I must admit I really am super interested in Ghost, sprits, Poltergeists etc, and I absolutly loved this video!.
My favourite story was the one about the ghost haunting the two young sisters "Tara Walker 14" & "Devon Walker 7" it was really spooooky! (It was probably just a fix!..but I LOVED it anyway!. If you love things about ghosts etc. then I do not only recommend this Gem, I also recommend the first two Poltergeist movies as well (no relation to this vid accept for the theme).
Don't bother with the 3rd one it was really poor.
All I can really say is "Get you're Pizza, turn all you're lights off get a copy of this Vid & the two Poltergeist movies and get ready for a night of TERRROR!

I like the story in this video about the girl "Devon" who was spooked by a Poltergeist (I still wonder if it was actually a lie though)
