Zeppelin and Sabbath influences. This is how Metal should be! These dudes are reliving the good days. Too bad this is probably the last Down album.

Perfect album. About an hour of complete bliss. Does not get any better than this. SUPERGROUP from New Orleans. Pepper Keenan of COC, Bower of EHG and Clearlight, Kirk and Strange of Crowbar, and of course, Anselmo. Kick ass album. Some mellow stuff and its heavy too, Pick it up, man. This CD rocks.

Not as good as their first. But still some damn good tunes. Waiting For The Turning Point is a classic. Somewhat punk influence, and REAL PUNK, no Blink 182 crap. The Destruction of a Person rules, its so trippy. Yet, heavy as hell too. The Horror and Stealing a Page... are both two Metal head dream songs. Can't wait for new album. KEEP IT COMING, BOYS!

1.0 out of 5 stars WORST ALBUM EVER MADE, May 12 2004

A complete joke. This isn't music at all. I'd rather listen to Avril Lavigne and Snoop Dogg than this. Too bad I couldn't have given it 0 stars.

Best album I've heard in a long time. Its so refreshing and happy, and good to listen in the car when your driving by, staring up at the clouds. Sweet solos. Chamberlin is as good as ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars GRINDCORE, Feb. 22 2004
This review is from: Scum (Audio CD)
The origonal and the best. You put on this album, and your hair can't help flying in the air, for the entire 33 minutes... and 28 songs. You probably would have known the tune of the title track, Scum, by now... oh how I love it. The song I most dislike is You Suffer cause it goes for about 2 seconds, and all you can hear is 'RA RA RA'. But all the other songs are so good. This is the heaviest CD I own, and one of the heaviest albums ever made. These guys are so young. I can't believe this young kid can scream like this! The bass is as loud, and brutal as the guitar parts, and the guitar parts are very, very, very brutal. The drummer is very fast. Your ears will bleed after listening to this. What I want YOU to do. Go out, buy this album, grab some beers, some old horror movie, go home, turn the horror movie on, put it on mute, and turn your speakers as loud as they get for SCUM. And piss off your nieghbors.

5.0 out of 5 stars How Music Should Be!, Feb. 7 2004
This review is from: Nola (Audio CD)
Best line-up on an album, ever. Phil Anselmo. Pepper Keenan. Kirk Windstein. Todd Strange. Jimmy Bower. This album takes ages to get into. But once your there you can't get it out of your CD player. I love this album. I can't get enough of it. Its a lot better than Down II. This is, next to Black Sabbath 'Master of reality', one of the best Doom Metal albums of all time. The inlay of the booklet gives you the best feel of the album. 5 dudes hanging around in the sun, making some kick ass tunes. New Orleans swamp metal. Chemically-depressed Stoner Rock. Doom. This band started off making some underground tapes. But beccause they were so good, they went on to make a great album. This is some very heavy guitar riffs with some mellow acoustic songs. Please check out this cd. Its so good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Black, Jan. 27 2004
This, Cradle of Filth's first release, is Cradle of Filth's best release. I love everything about this CD. One minute through a song on this album can be full on Black Metal, but then sometimes it can be a very soft keyboard/piano playing. I have always thought Dani Filth's vocals have been at their peak during Cradle's 'black' days. But the thing is, unlike a lot of other Black Metal bands around, Cradle of Filth can still be very melodic. Dani Filth is my favourite lyric writer. Look at the lyrics for To Eve The Art of Witchcraft. The end of that song is so powerful and beautiful. You have to get this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pantera Bring Out Another Classic, Jan. 26 2004
This review is from: Far Beyond Driven (Audio CD)
Oh my God. This is one of the best albums I own. I like every song on this. Dimebag Darrels best work is on here. This album includes my favourite Pantera aong of all time Becoming (Next to Cemetery Gates) 5 Minutes Alone you might have heard already. Vinnie Paul is such a good Drummer. I'm Broken is one of Panteras best songs. And Shedding Skin is great too. Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills...check out the lyrics to this one! Planet Caravan is a Black Sabbath cover, and I think Phil has a better voice than Ozzy, so Panteras cover is better than the origional. Strength Beyong Strength is one of their heaviest songs of all time. At the moment Phil Anselmo is in another band called Superjoint Ritual. They're one of my favourite bands too. Pretty much anything Phil touches turns to gold. If you're a real heavy metal fan, you'd already have this CD.
