Great Advise!, July 7 2004
Great advise to new managers. I really could relate to the story. Both helpful and validating.

Killer book, July 7 2004
Linux is awesome but...I've been thinking about adding a BSD system for my home.edu. I'm convinced it will be a great experience. The author's passion for BSD is evident. Thanks, Mr. Lehey.

Might be ok for some users, Mar 13 2004
Charts are not given much coverage. Chart data is not given much coverage. From a programmer's point of view, simple excel vba object graphs and explanations of properties would be more helpful. Some examples come straight from the MSDN Office developer sections. I really wish authors would refrain from the cut and paste of the MSDN. Consumers of this type of material are looking for more than MSDN help files. All that said.... It gets you started.

Content is fine. Binding is not. The book is falling apart.

Nice!, Mar 12 2004
If you are a beginner, this book will get you going. If you program in 10 different languages, this book is a quick reference for Python basics. The author is clear and has selected examples that can be understood quickly. Python is a great programming language.

Good stuff., Jan 30 2004
Python is great. The author does a nice job with text processing. I liked the author's honest perspective on FP. Learned a thing or two.
