4.0 out of 5 stars This is a very good concert, Dec 9 2010
This review is from: Mediterranean Nights (Audio CD)
Definitely a very skilled guitarist with a very good assemblage of very capable and talented musicians. Really enjoyed the way they work together without the egos of some other bands. Love the acoustic guitars by Pavlo and also the playing of (pardon my ignorance the all those Greek music lovers) but the greek style guitar like instruements of both backup guitarists.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Example How Live Albums are often better Than the Studio, Oct 31 2010
This review is from: 1972 Live (Audio CD)
This is perhaps one of the great rock groups, much like Chicago. To give you an idea how great they could have been is they were one of the bands invited to Woodstock. Having seen them live in some of the most humble settings such as Toronto's CNE, they have always proved to be a most talented group. This group was at least as good as Chicago if not better. This album is certainly one of the best live alums of all time. If you haven't heard Lighthouse this is probably the best place to start. You will thoroughly enjoy it. It sad this is not readily available.

Execellent Made for TV Series. A great performer, Peter Falk brings his own brand of humour and a different way of dealing with detective mysteries. All six seasons are well worth the investment.

Probably the one who truly loved the Genesis sound before they lost teir way. Watching the concert you can see by Hackett's guitar playiing how much he contributed to the Genesis sound. Not a particularly great vocalist but his guit playing and his contribution to the Genesis songsmith was probably considerable. Worth Purchasing as you see him moving in a new direction with this group of musicians.

And I'm not talking about Toni Curtis. Almost any movie Yul Brenner has been in he gives an amazing performance for that character. Probably not one of his most famous roles but good entertainment.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Times are a'changin, Oct 1 2010
This review is from: Black and Blue (Audio CD)
Ever trying to get a new audience and moving on with the changing times. Some may view it as compromise or a loss of talent. To me on recalling this album it was probably one of their best new ones. Knowing the Stones music which has always been more R & B than Rock from such songs as Little Rooster. The have moved a long from such things as Satisfaction, Ninteenth Nervous Breakdown, Ruby Tuesday, to Wild Horses, Dead Flowers, Angie, Heartbreaker, Time Waits For No One. They have probably stayed closer to their roots that any one.

This is really a group of contributors, every one in the band seems to have an important ro;e from song writing to the instrment they play and the supporting of each others contribution. The Orchestra really sets the tone to make this a very special album. Tuesday Afternoon and The Sunset infact the way they have constructed this even though it is many pieces of music, one piece flows into the other. and really the whole thing should really be performed together as a cohesive whole. Beautiful.

When the Moodies had more than one skilled musician. This is where they really had an interpplay of instruements, probably one of the best groups ever. Eyes of a Child is perfect, the Acoustic I Never Thought really causes one to think deep thoughts and then transitioning into a full electrically charged interlude. Excellent Mie Pinder sort of grounds this band.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Different Feel, Sep 27 2010
This review is from: The Other Side Of Life (Audio CD)
The Moodies without Mike Pinder are a completely different band. The are some truly beautiful songs though such as Your Wildest Dreams, Its sad though they just don't have the right keyboard sound their almost disco type sounds, that to me kind ruins the overall sound and trivializes the songs.
