Bought it for my daughter for college. Quieter than the HP printers I have with the home desktop. Selling point for me was the ink cost. Have had every make of major name printer and the "kill factor" for any of them is replacement ink. HP name brand ink is even 25% higher in Canada than US for same cartridges> Always look into ink replacement cost before you purchase any printer as features are usually not that much different.
