3.0 out of 5 stars tired of this crap!, July 16 2012

It seems that most of the interacial romance novels I have read are all about the sex not the romance. There is always some low grade, low moral concept wrapped up in the plot that makes it hard to read. The characters are either too slutty or have a real bad attitude. This one was no different. Would rate it lower if I could!

1.0 out of 5 stars didn't know it was a series, July 16 2012

This is the second book in a series. If you read the first one your good-if not-you will feel like you missed something. Don't bother unless you want to read the whole series. the concept was a little strange anyway and was kind of hard to get into.

1.0 out of 5 stars not very helpful, July 16 2012

This book covers the basic facts about living and working in the UK, but it dosen't go into much detail. I would have like to know more about opening a bank account, and the names of various institutions that might have been helpful. it doesn't discuss specific regions or neighborhoods, statistics or facts about the people, the cost of living etc. It would have been nice if they said more than- "its expensive." There are no details about relocating, and the best or worst places to settle. I actually returned this book. It was not helpful.

This book is not a good idea if you are just learning the basics of illustrator. Get something else! I honestly feel like I wasted my money, the tools aren't even configured the same on my Illustrator cs5 as it is in the book. Not helpful at all!

2.0 out of 5 stars more pornographic than passionate, June 21 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dragon Song (Paperback)
The story was OK, but the love scenes were more pornographic than passionate. There was no tenderness to them at all. Its like your reading this really good story and then it comes to a passionate scene and it looses something. I'm sorry, but I'm not a big fan of the "p" word when it comes to describing a woman's genitalia, and the authors drops the "P" bomb a lot. Its like the characters can't share a tender moment without resorting to dirty talk and explicit sex, and I do mean explicit. It was more like they were falling in lust than falling in love. The female character was very weak, the author made her talk tough but she was very submissive, and seem to give in to the hero a lot. It seems he only had to touch her or look at her a certain way for her to just give in to him. She came off as a bit of a slut too. Especially when she first met the main character in a bar and would have had sex with him right then and there if her friend hadn't intervened. If the truth be told the main character disgusts me. I woman's strength should not be measure solely by her sexuality. The author tried to make her seem like the modern woman, who can go for her nursing degree, be sexually free, and talk tough, but she was weak all the way around.

5.0 out of 5 stars full color photo only in special edition copy, June 14 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered this book not realizing there are two versions to it. One with colored photos and one with black and white. I got the latter, and as a browse through the book, the author often made references in regards to the photo that I could not understand, because they were in black and white. If you want to get the book with the colored photos, you have to get the special edition copy, which, the author claims she did specifically for professionals and salons. It doesn't mention this in the book description, so, make sure you get the Special edition copy if you want the colored photos. They weren't kidding when they called this book the science of black hair, because the author really goes into alot of scientific mubo jumbo about why our hair is the way it is. all the chemicals inside products and how they affect our hair, which isn't bad, but, its just a little too much information. I had to skip through alot of pages just to get to the information I wanted to know. The book is very informative(excessively so) but its worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars great book!!!, April 16 2011

This is one of those rare and gifted authors that brings everything together beautifully. that creates a love story that really is about love and makes it believable. I could not put this book down. I found it touching, sad, victorious, and wonderful. I love happy endings and everything in between. Her heroines are strong and not wishy-washy or compliant. They're independent and have minds of their own. They don't give in easy and neither does the hero. It makes for a very enjoyable read. This author is a treat. Trust me. if you like historical romance, read one of her books you will definitely be hooked. enjoy!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not sure if I like it, but didn't really hate it either., April 16 2011

the world that this arthur creates is amazing, but some of the sexual content in regards to other alien species ranges from bizarre to down right disgusting. Don't get me wrong I like passion as much as the next gal, but this book was a little out there for me, and this is from someone who really likes Science fiction romance. I found the way the aurthor draws you into this world pretty cool but the customs are a little to ridiculous for me to really get into all the way. Its starts off great but seem to be lacking in some places. Everything is told from the heroines point of Veiw and you don't get a chance to get into the heros head to know what he's thinking or how he really feels about her. The story is told in the first person which i don't usually read but I took a chance on this one. I would give the book "five stars" for creating an atmosphere I could get lost in, and "one star" for the romantic side of it. it could have been better but wasn't. Not sure how to rate this one. Not sure I liked it, but didn't really hate it either.

4.0 out of 5 stars interesting, April 16 2011

This review is from: Neo Ned (DVD)
It's a strange concept, but strangely enough it works. A Neo nazi skin head that falls in love with a black woman. This movie is not what you expect it to be. If your a little overly sensitive about racial issues you'll only be crinching in the beginning of the film. The N word is dropped a few times, but then the whole concept of the movie changes, and it becomes less about race and more about the two characters trying to find acceptance and love. It was strangely sweet and even comical in some areas. The love scenes is a little steamy not recommended for family viewing. It's not as heavy as you think and in the end both characters found the acceptance and love they were looking for. Not necessarily a happily ever after ending but not a sad serious ending either. I wouldn't recommend this movie for everyone, but I like it!
