Collins Gem Modern History
Collins Gem Modern History
by Harper Collins Publishers
Edition: Paperback
11 used & new from CDN$ 0.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, April 18 2004
Well, as you probably know Collins Gem books can fit in your pocket and you can carry them anywhere. They're nice, accurate reference books that once read will leave you much knowledgable with world, history, geography facts.
Modern History was as good and rich with informations as the previous Collins Gem books.
Even though it was published two years ago - I'd still recommend it to you as there surely are informations that never get out of date.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, April 17 2004
Well,it is an English movie so of course there is male nudity and dark humor. Albert Finney, the man (the lawyer) from Erin Brockovich movie, has given us a stunning performance in this movie. He is Winston Churchil prior to second world war and before he became a prime minister.
You should absolutely watch this movie - and when you do - you'll find out something you never knew about England and Nazis.
Appearantly English Government sold Hitler 8000 planes prior to WWII unbeknownst to them that Hitler would bomb England with the very same planes!
It is another "boring" English movie but it's worth watching it and I highly recommend it to all. There's so much to be learned from it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A cool movie, April 17 2004
This review is from: Wrong Turn (DVD)
Considering its genre this movie was actually quite good and I liked it. Eliza Dushku's performance was great as always.
For people who missed out what this movie is about - well a group of teenagers are stuck in some distant bushes and are haunted by some scary looking cannibals.
Is it worth to watch or buy this movie?
Well, only if you like Horror movies or if you're Eliza Dushku's fan - otherwise you better chose something else

3.0 out of 5 stars I don't know, April 16 2004
I was a huge fan of Ghandi. I had read every article written about him. I had bought the movie that was made about him and now when I bought his autobiography and read it. I am more then dissapointed!
This great man didn't actually reveal his recipe clearly to future generations on how to be like him, peaceful and non-violent to insults and violence! Sadly I came across so many chapters when he wrote about Vegetarians clubs and books he read about diets.
It is only my 'at the moment' opinion but Ghandi about Ghandi didn't actually wrote that wisely. His writings about himself are simple yet very confusing and even boring.
Anyways, I had great difficulties finishing Ghandi's Autobiography and usually I finish a book within two-three days at most. But of course this doesn't mean that you'd find this book the same way I did. So instead of recommending this book to you I'd reccommend you to read a couple of pages in random before you purchase it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hmmm, April 16 2004
Another book on Kosovo - so I had to have it and when I did get it I was so unhappy. It is impossible to read this book! It starts and it ends with one chapter when there should have been plenty. Impossible book to follow. Wait for a reprint - if it ever gets reprinted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, April 12 2004
This review is from: Live from Bagdad (DVD)
I liked this movie and so would you. It is based on a true story of CNN heroes who are and decide to stay in Iraq during the Gulf War despite the so many risks. Their brave hearts make them the envy of every journalist from all over the world as this CNN crew is the only one that covered Gulf War - LIVE.
Michael Keaton rocks in this movie. I liked his performance here more then in the famous Batman movie or any other he played before.
I would especially and highly recommend this movie to those people who burned their own flags that represent Justice and Democracy for a scumbag such as Sadam Hussein and its loyal followers which today thanks to U.S.A are the sorest losers as they have always been. Then you'll see how "smart" you were to burn your own flag for someone who is a menace to the civilised world.
A must watch movie. Well done to all the people who made this great movie. Well done to CNN heroes too. CNN rocks - as always.

Oskar Schindler, was a Nazi, german war businessman who employed as many Jews as possible in his factories so they would be spared of executions. It is another movie on Jews but this is the very best after "Life is beautiful". Watching this movie means getting through the TV screen into WWII and automatically become a haunted Jew.
Directed by a great director. Played by born-talented actors, this movie is a MUST to every home that cares on building a better and safer world for us all.
"ENJOY" the moral story as the movie "can not" possibly be enjoyed!

1.0 out of 5 stars Ouch, April 8 2004
This review is from: The 48 Laws of Power (Paperback)
You can buy not four copies but ten for your children so they "would" become CEO's ; You "can" become the most powerful person but PLEASE KNOW that if you become a CEO, or a powerful person by what this stupid book teaches you - IT'S ALL GONNA BE CRAWLING IN THIN ICE because this book teaches you the wrong way, the idiot way, the uncivilised way how to get where you want to.
After all, why don't you ask yourself who this Robert Greene is to teach you how to become powerful? Does he have any qualifications? Did you ever him about him until you were attracted to his lovely book title? NO and we never will because according to what he wrote and adviced us "the weak" people what to do - he must be a very sore loser.
I mean only a sore loser would feel so insecure and doubtful - to suggest winnings and power strategies in the most cruelest ways.

Based upon Robert Ludlum's book. Played by a couple of excellent actor. This movie was absolutely great from the beginning to the end.
A man wakes up and finds himself in a ship. He can't remember a thing not even his name. He's lost and he'll have to find himself including his identity. But how's that possible when he is haunted by people with the very "same" problem!
The greatest thriller I've seen in years and I watch movies in daily basis.
HIGHLY Recommended

3.0 out of 5 stars It's OK, April 3 2004
This review is from: Firestarter (DVD)
It's Stephen King's movie. It has a lot of famous actors and actresses. The best of all which was Drew Barrymore. At the age of not even ten she gives us the best performance ever. No wonder she is who she is today! Anyways,if you missed out from other reviewers what this movie is all about...well it is about this young girl that has supernatural powers. Her supernatural powers seem to be given to her by a government experiment given to her parents. And now she and her father are getting chased by the very same people.
It is an OK movie not wonderful - but if you enjoy King's books then it'll not be a waste of time to watch it!
