Star Trek: Enterprise (TV Series)

Plot Summary:
A prequel series, set 100 years before the original Star Trek series, which focuses on the early years of Starfleet, leading up to the formation of the Federation and the Earth-Romulan Wars. The series is set aboard the Earth ship Enterprise NX-01, captained by Jonathan Archer.

Plot Summary for Season Three:
The Xindi have attacked Earth. Seven million people are dead. They will attack again, and this time, they will destroy Earth... NX-01 has been recalled, her mission of exploration is over, now she is being sent into The Expanse, a deadly region of space, to find these Xindi... and destroy them before they can destroy Earth.

Enterprise became my favorite show as soon as I saw it, the opening song, the characters, the design... All ran through my mind every day after viewing it. Enterprise is at its core a show about exploration, about breaking the boundaries that other people have put on you. Its also about discovery, which as its turns out isn't always a good thing. The characters Don't start out set in stone, and then have problems thrown at them, they change over the course of the show, and the writers were not afraid to shake their lives up; sometimes is horrific ways.

We get to see Earth meet new alien cultures, go through its first interstellar war, and see it develop. The show doesn't pull its punches either, when things die they are dead, characters can be irrational, immoral, and generally very realistic.

Enterprise succeeds where much TV fails, it created a cast of interesting, developing characters while still delivering the action that makes TV fun. But without people, action is Empty. Enterprise is perfect in my eyes at least, and deserves to be seen. Even if you don't normally like Sci-Fi, you might enjoy this show. A lot.

I love the technology - a grappler instead of tractor beams, phase pistols and EM rifles, airlocks and shuttle-pods deployed from bomb bay doors underneath. When you're at a disadvantage, you have nothing but your wits to rely on and this show was about as far from Voyager's technobabble saves the day approach as it was possible for Trek to realistically get.

Season three is an adrenaline pumping action packed non-stop thrill ride!!! I really enjoyed season three.

This series ran for 4 years (4 seasons) which is pretty standard for TV Shows. A total of 98 episodes were produced and broadcasted.

This series was designed to grab a new audience, and keep all or most of the Star Trek buffs on-board as well.

UPN pretty much wanted the show to die. They wanted to make their image more female and move away from Sci-Fi. UPN stopped advertising the show and moved it around a couple times on the schedule.

The Pilot Episode - Broken Bow:
- 12.54 Million viewers watched it, on the day it premiered (September 26, 2001). Enterprise scored a 9.1/13 overnight for series premiere 'Broken Bow', which secured UPN its second most-watched night ever after 1995's Voyager debut. Not only do these ratings represent a 46% drop from the two-hour premiere, but they are also 18% less than the 6.0/9 overnight scored by Voyager's season seven opener, 'Unimatrix Zero, Part II.'

- If, it had been a feature film that completed it's global theatrical run at 12.54 Million ticket sales, it would have made over $120 Million (US Dollars). It would have been a global box office hit.
