2.0 out of 5 stars Many errors, Sep 1 2007
Prospective buyers should be warned that this book contains many errors and that the accompanying CD is missing a few files. Luckily, you can obtain updates including a list of corrected errors and the missing files at www.peachpit.com/dwcs3cib

Other than that, I'm enjoying working through the book. I knew it contained errors and was able to find the corrections in time.

If I had designed this book, however, I would have designed the exercises in such a way that the reader would have to build a site almost from scratch, with the exception being assets such as text and images.

I'm curious as to why Amazon.ca has not published other reviews of this book. Surely, I'm not the first Amazon customer to notice the errors.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sound advice, Jun 1 2007
I use this as a textbook for one of my Reporting and Writing courses. It is an excellent tool for teaching students about structure and the various elements that make up a feature. It also gives student a practical blueprint they can follow for writing a feature. If you take any Pulitzer Prize winning feature and study it according to Blundell's principles, you will find the various elements that he writes about. I do find some of the writing samples a little dry, but that doesn't diminish the soundness of his advice or the cogency of his insights into the art and craft of feature writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the investment, Jun 11 2004
I've been using FrontPage for three years but never really appreciated its power until I read this book. The chapters on collaboration are especially helpful if, like me, you have students working on a group project. Highly recommended.
