5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST of the Muses, July 14 2004
This review is from: The Real Ramona (Audio CD)
This album was the perfect blend of Kristin's brooding introspection and Tanya's fun pop sensibilities. The record constantly rewards and surprises upon repeated listening. The Golden Fleece of the Misunderstood.

1.0 out of 5 stars The WORST!!!!!, July 13 2004
Without giving anything way, the ending of this movie makes the heroic actions of the John's mother and father in the first two movies completely pointless!!!
Arnold's last word's to John: "I'll see you". This sounds nice until you think about the reason he is going to see him!
A cheesy yuck-fest that tarnishes the rep of the first two movies.

The lead singer killed his friend in a car crash. Doesn't that make the title funny? HAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!! Skylar must be smiling down from heaven, Vince.

5.0 out of 5 stars My New Financial Advisor, April 3 2004
This review is from: Sex Money Kiss (Hardcover)
There's something almost heroic about Gene's single-minded ability to gouge as much money from his fans as possible.
But the results don't lie. Gene gives solid advice and tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to.
I can't wait for his lectures to be put on dvd. Man, he's got me buying more Kiss Krap!

This review is from: Style Wars (DVD)
The film is great. However, for a two dvd set, its a shame the producers didn't track down the losers who were the subjects of the film and see what they're doing today. I'll bet they're all still living with their moms.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fonzie Can't Act!, Jan. 19 2004
This review is from: Heroes [Import] (VHS Tape)
Ho-ly Cow. Henry must thank his gods every day for landing his TV gig. Every one of his movies are proof that he has ZERO acting talent. In this gem, he plays an obnoxious, "crazy" vet, traveling the country in seach of his old army buddy. For the whole movie he's carrying a shoebox of worms that remains in pristine condition despite Henry being soaked by rain. He tries to pull off a Fonzie kind of toughness with some rednecks, but without the greased hair, he comes off as laughable.
We're also expected to believe that his character could land a babe like Sally Field. PUH-LEASE!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Funny!, June 23 2003
This review is from: Two Of Us (DVD)
There is nothing revealed in this movie that the average Beatles fan doesn't already know. But Quinn shines in his portrayal of Paul McCartney. Literally EVERYTHING he says sounds like a question: "You're looking well?", "Let's go for a walk?". HYSTERICAL!

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns
by Frank Miller
Edition: Paperback
Price: CDN$ 11.39

3.0 out of 5 stars Overrated, June 5 2003
There is some great artwork here, due largely by Janson's inking. Depicting violence is what Miller does best.
The story is a different matter. For anyone familiar with the "Adult Legion" tale from the the Sixties, you'll know what I'm talking about. Because this Batman story is set in the "future", Miller had carte blache to do whatever he wanted with the characters. Thus, pivotal charaters in the Batman mythos die in this book. Miller would never be allowed to do such a thing if he were writing the monthly comic. He also puts Batman's current writers in a box if they are to hold true to this story. Any other writer with such restrictions lifted could have accomplished the same thing that Miller did.
Miller has Batman "shoot" a bad guy, but doesn't really show if the the bad guy is, indeed, shot. Not very brave of Miller. Lastly, Batman teams up with the same group of thugs that a few issues before were murdering people.
Such inconsistencies of character are of little concern to Frank.

Legion of Super-Heroes: The Great Darkness Saga
Legion of Super-Heroes: The Great Darkness Saga
by Paul Levitz
Edition: Paperback

3.0 out of 5 stars Not THAT Great!!, May 2 2003
When this story came out, it was many times better than the awful Legion stories that faithful fans had to endure in previous years. To watch Giffen's artwork get better with each issue was a treat. Levitz and Giffen understood Legion lore and knew how to entertain the old fans.
The problem: Darkseid. Prior to this story, Darkseid had made NO previous appearance in Legion stories. Because of this, when his identity is revealed, I was left confused. Not having any prior knowlegde of this character, I wondered who the heck he was and how he fit in the continuity. Its as if Lex Luthor showed up in a Sgt. Rock comic.
